The Clippers blogger in fact felt that at the present time Bledsoe is more suited to play SG than PG, but he did feel that would work out ok with Gordon.

Irrelevant if his plan is to trade them for each other, right?

The better question there would be how would he fit with Rivers?

Orlando is high on Burke. If we end up ahead of them maybe they will try and trade up with us and give us a Moe Harkless or Tobias Harris in some sort of deal? Could get interesting

I think Harris will pretty much not be obtainable from ORL given the half of season he had with them.

Is Jamal Crawford a better PG?

Not exactly, just a ball dominant scorer.

In the context of the podcast the Clippers blogger was really only interested in trading Bledsoe straight up for the #5 pick.

Rivers has similar game to Gordon- pnr player, ball dominant guard, attack off the dribble. Its why many questioned the Rivers pick.

If you're projecting Rivers as the starting 2, Bledsoe is probably a better fit than Vasquez because he doesnt need the ball to be effective on the court

Fair enough, I don't listen to Clippers podcasts.

It was a Pelicans podcast with guest bloggers from the Bucks and Clippers discussing the most likely offseason PG targets. You should listen to it, it will make you want Jennings even less.

I was going off the assumption that the trade sends Gordon for Bledsoe, leaving Austin as your only option at the 2.

If they're talking about only the 5th pick, I'd have to see what's there. If Burke is there, I take Burke and don't look back. If he's gone, I take a long, hard look at Len.

I just think trading away a top pick or player for a rental is kind of risky. Do we really want to trade away good assets for a Cornerstone Saga 2.0?

Honestly, I never got into the whole podcast thing. I enjoy music way too much.

I feel like you are the only poster on this board who understands me.

Also, given how hurt Gordon was about the whole trade and surrounding lies the Clippers were feeding him, would he really be accepting of a trade to LAC?

I know his veto power is gone, but a player can raise enough stink to kill a deal or manipulate the market (Chrissy Poo's Lebrongency).

So, hypothetically, if Bledsoe were to go back into the draft, which is silly, I know, but humor me here. If he did, would you draft any of the top players coming out this year before him?

if they are doing this deal with Gordon, I would guess they really believe in Oladipo, have a high enough pick for McLemore, or think they can get by with OJ Mayo.

eta- I dont think bledsoe would be a primadonna. He knows hes getting traded, if anythinv he will be excited to be the starter. plus in NO, hes got two UK guys- one of whom he played with in college.

That's completely irrelevant as the contract situations are miles apart. If Bledsoe agrees to an extension prior to the trade, maybe, but otherwise, you just don't control the asset enough.

ETA - It's also unfair, as he's had years as a pro to develop. If we're talking college senior Bledsoe, I'd take a few players before him, Burke being a big one.

I took these trade proposals from the Clippers section of Real GM. Always nice to see we're not the only ones that make ridiculous trade proposals.

ryan anderson +vasquez +their lottory pick for DJ + bled and our 25th

DJ/Eric Bledsoe for Anderson, Lopez, and Jason Smith

Yeah I know it's an unfair question, but my point is I think the draft is full of disappointments. I've been screaming that we need to trade the pick.

I've always been with you about Vasquez. I think if we focus on upgrading the talent around him so he can be a pass first PG, he can run this team. I think the problem was he was trying to be a scorer, which he's not. I like his size and he has nice vision. He should focus on facilitating and work on defense.

Yeah thats all he has been his whole life, the suprise was him at the top of the league in assist. He is slow as shit, if he was agile and faster he would average 20 a game.

We discussed this yesterday and I'd have to think about that trade if Noel, McLemore, Porter, and Burke are all gone.

At that point, it comes down to "How much do we want Len or Oladipo?"

Len is boom or bust, like Drummond last year, while Oladipo seems to be another Aminu, as he is very athletic and a good rebounder but can't shoot for shite.

Don't bother looking at Pelicans trades on RealGM.

Every single one of them has Ryan Anderson put in the trade as a "throw in". They all want him on their team, but give very little trade value for him. It is really hilarious.

We get raped on every single trade over their. Its funny.

That would be a really tough scenario. I think its Bennett at that point. He's clearly the best player left, even if he doesn't fit. You take talent in the NBA Draft, right?

If we want Burke, we have to hope:

Orlando picks #1 overall. If they doesn't, I think they will be strongly tempted to pick Burke at basically any other position. If Orland picks #2, we have to hope that the #1 picks Nerlens, then maybe Orlando picks McLemore.

Ask Minny how well "picking talent" works, considering they're stuck with Derrick Williams on the bench behind Kevin Love.
