There's a ton of homerism in this thread.

JJ Watt
Aldon Smith
Clay Matthews
Haloti Ngata
Von Miller
Patrick Willis

Not if Graham is healthy and in 2011 form.

We don't really have the weapons to make up for losing him right now.

I'd rather have absolutely elite offense and roll with our young guys in new system than have a very good offense and jj watt.

Losing Graham would make our aging receivers lives much more difficult. Adding our LT questions to the mix and you put a ton of pressure on Brees.

JJ Watt and the vaunted Texans defense (which would be better than ours) amounted to a bag of dicks against any team who could legitimately score/the Patriots. I'd rather keep the firepower to keep up with them.

JJ Watt.

But may be inclined to go with a demarcus ware. Who knows if Watt is about to come back down to earth. He has a very small sample size.

Yeah probably them too. I didn't realize how good Aldon Smith was his rookie year.

This is also why I said no. God knows we need def. help. He also knows we are a off. minded team. JG is our most dynamic player. And even when he is not being targeted by Brees I have to believe he is pulling def. to him to free up other players.
There is not a player on the def. side i would trade him for.
Hells bells its possible that he has not even peaked yet.

Objectively Graham is a GREAT player. If we had a chance to get Willis, Von Miller or Watts (Not taking Nahgta because he's older, that's how good Graham is) then you have to take that deal.

We can still pass and run without Graham. Brees is the straw that stirs the drink on offense. We haven't had that guy on defense since Vilma and Sharper. We need one of those guys.

Seriously. Def MVP and single handed can end a drive by himself. He batted down like 3k passes last year.

Yea.... I am with you. I love Jimmy and all, but he gets injured often and is STILL raw. He dropped quite a few passes last season, but in his defense he was dealing with injuries.
- But JJ Watt is a damn BEAST! This is the guy that you could build an entire defense around. The only other guy that I would really like to build a defense around is the previously mentioned Patrick Willis. He combines all world talent with a high football IQ

Sacrifice him completely meaning brutal homicide?

Nah i'd feel guilty acquiring a defensive player at the cost of a human life.

Offensive minded team, offensive minded coach, offensive minded league. Throughout the playoffs basically every game had scores in the high 20s and 30s. Jimmy Graham drawing coverage and creating mismatches is going to have SIGNIFICANTLY more of an impact on the totality of the game than JJ Watt or Aldon Smith (who didn't do jack after Justin Smith went down)will.

Again the patriots put up 41 points on JJ Watt and a better surrounding cast than he had here. They put those numbers up partly because the rules favor good offenses over defenses and partly because the Texans didn't have the firepower to keep up. Brees is a masterful qb but there is NO WAY you can expect to level the playing field with marginal offensive tackles and no elite weapons to throw to. It's absolutely arrogant as hell to think he can keep up with the Brady, Manning, Rodgers of the world with inferior OTs, inferior wide receivers, and inferior TEs.

Agreed.

But we also won the SB without JJ Watt and JG.

How good our off. would be without JG to be honest I just don't know. But what I do know is that he is a freak player that comes along once in a great while.

Does it take a double team to stop JJ Watt?
Does it take a double team to stop JG?

Both are game changers to me and I will go with the one I know.
