My daughter recently bought me some Speakers for my BD, so I dug my old Sansui 7070 Receiver out of storage in an attempt to re-establish my old vintage stereo system. I am not getting any sound, but its all lit up like it should be working.

Thinking I should have it checked out since its so old and has been in storage for years. Any suggestions on a a fair, dependable Electronics Repairman?

Is the electronics repair shop in an old house on Foster by Claycut still there? I don't see it on Google Maps.

If you absolutely have to have this unit working, McCann Electronics down in Metry is still around. LINK /. They're great people, but be prepared for some sticker-shock, even just for an estimate. As in it may be cheaper to just buy a new one.

I assume that you've hit the switches and knobs with some contact cleaner (available at, yes, Radio Shack).

One free tip: the relay that selects the A/B speakers may stick after years of non-use. Some judicious kinetic adjustment may be in order (translation: whack it).

By the way, is it this monster?

If you want to get your hands dirty there's stuff all over the web about troubleshooting / repair.

I will try this. The knobs are a bit stiff....

I know a guy in Lafayette who fixes these. Do you want his contact info?
