Shooting outside shots and making outside shots are two totally different things, mon.

We aren't talking Lamarcus Aldridge here who can shoot and makes half the shots he takes

With Cousins salary we will still have salary cap flexibility if you sign D12 you cap will be destroyed.

For one season. If we did pull off a Cousins trade, almost as interesting as his acquisition would be how much Benson allows the team to spend this year. If they still spent close to the cap this season, it would mean Benson is willing to go into the tax, at least for a year or two.

Not really you could have a team for 69 mil with trading for Cousins & Deng then signing CP3 & Kmart. We would have 2 expiring contracts on that team. Then we would have 10-15 mil in cap space for 2014

He would be one of the shooters that would keep the floor open

The cap is going to be ~$60m. Your scenario is impossible unless Martin takes a dirt cheap contract and either Gordon or Anderson + ~$5m in other salaries are traded for Deng. But we cannot have $69m in salary this year.

i'll correct my stance on him. i dont like him as a starter. love him off the bench. he is the type of shooter i want to draft or sign as a fa but not for much.

The Luxury tax # is 69 mil. With my scenario we could get KMart for around 7-8 mil and we trade Gordon for Deng straight up they have the same salary. We could do this for around $67 mil

CP3 $18,500,000
Deng $14,283,844 Ext CT
Ryno $8,308,500
KMart $7,5000,000
AD $5,375,760
JSmith $2,500,000 Exp Ct
AR25 $ 2,339,040
Cousins $4,916,973
Matt Barnes $1,500,000
Darius Miller $788,872
Brian Roberts $788,872
Lance Thomas$884,293 Exp CT

I like your dig! I'ld There is a big misconception out ghere that we have to/will stay under the cap. I think we will be over but not where we get raped by the taxes.
-tou are rubbing kmart in my brain!! I'll raise his offer to 5mil. Ego gets to the rim too easy and is too young to swap with deng. We will probably spare room to give smith about 5mill/3years. Definately worth keeping. He cant back the 4/5 with ease and the ladies want him here right?

That's not what he means by you can't have $69 million in salary this year. You lose most of your exceptions when you go under the cap which would be needed to sign CP3. Without those exceptions it's not possible to get that far above the cap.

First, if you trade Lopez for Cousins rather than cutting Lopez then you don't have enough cap space to sign Paul. Even if you dump Roberts, Miller and Thomas you still have to have cap holds of $490,000 to get the roster up to 12. So with the minimal cap holds and assuming a $60 million cap you have just $17.6 million to sign Paul, but lets say he takes that. So you're at $60 million and all you have left to offer are minimum contracts and the cap room MLE which is $2.5 million. Chris Paul ate all of your cap space so you don't have the ability to offer Kevin Martin $7.5 million, you can only offer $2.5 million.

I would trade our pick & GV for Cousins. That would save us @ least 1.5 mil. Then release Lopez that should give us enough cap space

I'd rather Cousins, but only because I really dislike Howard.

Howard is the better player--talk about twin towers on D with Davis and him.

This team has solid offensive options. Defense is the priority. There is nobody better than Howard in that regard.
