5A track and field MVP: Albert Brock, Chalmette

dude swept the hurdles events and finished second in the triple jump to singlehandedly lead Chalmette to a tie for 5th, our best finish ever at the state meet
our Alexis Gordon finished 4th in the shot put and won the discus championship to singlehandedly lead our girls to a tie for 13th
from our track coach's facebook
"They just made an announcement at the State Track Meet, "We have paying customers that need seats, so all athletes and coaches go sit outside of the stadium." So i am supposed to sit on the wet grass and not watch my kids compete. I think we coaches and athletes pay dues all year for the right to compete for a title, and this is how we are treated in track and field. How about hold this at Tad Gormley with enough seats!"
how bout we trade 5A baseball to BR for track, then both can be in the right venues, baseball at the Box and track at Tad Gormley... Tulane can host another class's championship...
i also wonder why 5A sends 8 teams to the finals and the other classes only send 4...

i'll bet anything we won at least one today... we only sent one boy and one girl but they were both badass in multiple events...
EDIT- we won the boys 110 hurdles and the girls discus...

Have you ever met people that run LHSAA? They are borderline retard. Every woman that works there is a pompous bitch.

Can we get a pic or a definition of a pompous bitch? Maybe a meme?

Donna Davidson, LHSAA executive assistant, is the rudest person/woman I'ver ever dealt with. She needs to be fired. It's no wonder she has no friends.

They said move to the infield or team area.... Although I don't see where on the infield you would have gone and team area was probably in the field house. Not much of a view

They are remodeling the field house so is off limits.
The team area was on the grass area outside the stadium.
I have never had a good experience when dealing with the lhsaa directly. They are a joke and a bunch of idiots.

Colorado has the same type of idiots as you describe. Maybe it's a profession that attracts dysfunctionals.

yeah i kinda would rather read about baseball than track in our weekly newspapers but i won't deny that we're pretty good at track and field...
even if we send only one kid to state, he or she is usually a badass state champion...
the weird thing is, out of our kids that dominate track, they don't translate to other sports very well...

It is. Typically people that get into high school association administrative positions are people that have never gotten any kind of respect their entire lives so lording over kids and lower school officials makes them feel important. When, in reality, it's that no one wants to deal with the hassle of challenging them because they know if they speak up the administrator will do everything in their power to make an example of them. It isn't just Louisiana, it's everywhere.
