My guess is you're either not a (non student) season ticket holder who actually pays for your tickets or you live in or close to Houston.

Not many people shelling out good money for home tickets, plus the required donations associated with each ticket like the home schedule reduced by one game and reduced to ULM, Georgia Southern, New Mexico State and likely Alabama, Miss State, Ole Miss and Georgia or Vandy or Kentucky.

Just the easiest way to schedule big games these days. The marquee match ups mean too much in the course of a season and some schools just don't want to go to a place like Death Valley to play. Neutral sites take that hurdle out of negotiations. Not saying Whisky wouldn't want to come on down to BR but teams in the past have come out and said they didn't want to play in BR. Wish we could get back to playing in home stadiums...it's the whole point.

Until the SEC lays out a solid conference format schedule, you can't really schedule home and homes, this an increase in these 1 year deals.

The "crying" by season ticket holders is justified.

We've been fed a steady diet of shitty OOC opponents for quite a while, with the lone marquee OOC games being played elsewhere.

But I thought Bama was playing Wisky in 2014.

2015, in Dallas.
All the better. We play 'em before Alabama does.

I'd love to see a game in Madison and host a bunch of Wisky fans in BR.
Let me tell you from experience, Wisconsin football fans are terrible. No grace in victory and worse in defeat.Just an obnoxious bunch of sickning drunks, and those are their good points.I hate Wisconsin. The Tigers will stomp'em good.I can't wait.

Why is it in Houston, just seems random. They have to travel like 10,000 miles and we're like right there. Not complaining, I just wonder how they came to that conclusion

I agree fully ! This is just getting a little old i.e. home schedules get crappier and crappier and what does the LSU athletic dept. do.....SELL another home game. Strictly a money grab at the detriment of season ticket holders and the entire B.R. area business community. Don't understand why the chamber does not raise a stink about this crap !
A neutral site game, once in a while, is great...just not every year and at the expense of a good home/away series.

Houston? Random? Houston has largest LSU alumni group outside of Baton Rouge.

Houston is also fertile recruiting ground.

I also live in Houston.

It's a no brainier!

Houston is LSU-West. Almost everyone I know in my graduating class took jobs in Houston within the first year. I'd say out of the 30 people I talk to 25 work here and the other 5 are in the Dallas/FT.Worth area.

Houston is a 4 hour drive from BR, Reliant is in the city and they have the metro rail to bring people from the bars in midtown and downtown to the stadium. Plus the city offers a lot of hotel room for fans of both schools. Plus it's a big money game in front of a National TV audience. I rather pay to see this game then see LSU open up with ULM or Utah State.

I've spent some time in Wis. over the yrs for work, a few mths at a time, & have always found the people there to be friendly. Now, if you're talking bout the UW's student body, it's like any other large school's: loud & rowdy & inebriated. Their adult fans know how to tailgate too. If LSU does play UW, the city of Houston better seriously stock up on beer & booze.

I've only visited Eau Claire once. Went downtown for lunch and the only other places I've seen so many people pounding beers during the work week would be London and New Orleans!

Those bastards can drink.

There are thousands of LSU fans and season ticket holders that drive to BR from Houston for every home game. Including those "shitty OOC opponents".

We make that drive 6-8 times per year. And you're bithching about making it ONCE? To see a premier OOC matchup, in a recruiting hotbed, at an awesome stadium to watch games and tailgate?

No, your "crying" is not justified.

Alot of alumni is great, but you're alienating alot of the people who support the Tradition Fund and TAF, regardless of where they graduated.

These first week OOC "neutral" site games are like a preseason bowl game. Not sure how anyone could dislike it. Yeah, it costs a home gave vs some insignificant rent a win, but the national exposure is worth it.

If you live in S. La, a drive to Houston to see a decent game should trump something like opening with N. Texas, like last year.

HA! Those frickers couldn't get us to go up North. Now they are going to be playing us in front of about 65,000 LSU fans.
