My first play through as a kid, I didn't have a guide so I never got Vincent. I stumbled across Yuffie but didn't know what to say to her so I didn't get her either. Kind of miss the days of no internet, added some mystery to games.

Was he before or after the Yojimbo fight? IIRC there were like 4 Yojimbo fights and you could steal the Genji stuff from him. I got to the last one and could never get the steal and kill him so I think I gave up on the hunts. Or was it Gilgamesh? I forget.

He is the final mark you get. Here I will copy and past straight from wiki
quote:

Yiazmat is the Ultimate Elite Mark in Final Fantasy XII. He is not only the ultimate mark, but also the ultimate boss. Defeating Yiazmat will take at least sixty minutes at very high levels and player skill; but the fight usually takes hours. He is considered to be one of the series's most difficult superbosses. To date, he has the highest number of hit points of any creature, boss, or superboss in the entire Final Fantasy series, with well over 50 million hit points. This astronomically high number is the main reason he takes so long to kill, since regular attacks break the damage limit only in the game's International Zodiac Job System version.

The player can accept the hunt for Yiazmat after vanquishing the Hell Wyrm and all Rank VII Marks except Shadowseer.

Just curious do you guys prefer FF games where you have freedom over your characters "class" or when a character is a specific type and it stays that way?

Like say comparing 7 to 9. 7 you equip whatever materia you want and 9 you can only learn certain skills.

I am probably too "western" when it comes to some things. I'm sure you know what I mean.

Kinda. I really liked X, so I was already attached to the characters and world. An excuse to play with the same characters (in a awesome battle system) was easy for me to enjoy.

I don't really mind about this. I just want a system that is done well. I thought IX's skill system was the best job/skill system in the series, but I don't think there's anything inherently bad about fixed paths once you've chosen a job.

I rather fixed paths myself. And I agree about IX having the best job/skill system.

I liked both the materia system and IX's job system. I could not stand FFV's job/class system.

I just made it to disc 2 on IX. Ozma is starting to get worried.
