They need to figure out a better way of getting people to that area first.
Making it more desirable doesn't address the underlying problem that is is a bitch to get to.

Yep, unless MARTA adds a spur route or something else changes, taking away large areas of parking might hurt attendance more than it will help. I think the plan was to add parking garages farther away from Turner Field.

I was compromising. I'd really like it built up in Flowery Branch.

Clayton Countians are butt hurt that it's not being built down there. All of the money is in town and in the northern suburbs. No one wants to go down to Clatyon County to watch a game.

I say leave it downtown, but that's just me.

Yeah that's a bit of a stretch for me.

MARTA wont add a spur route. There's no funding for it.

The Braves Shuttle isn't so bad for weekday games. For big games it's an absolute pain in the arse though.

Those frickers re-elected a sheriff who is facing felony charges, their school system is in shambles, and they are on the news every other week for some sort of controversy or scandal. They should be glad we Georgia hasn't razed that whole damn county yet.

There's a reason why Clayton sucks, shite flows downhill (south).

not sure if it was posted yet but here is a video of the roof's etc. Not the traditional designs I like but it would certainly make it an experience to go to the games.

The way that the roof would open on that design is pretty sweet.

In a perfect world, Marta would expand the lines to Turner Field and then run a line up 316 to Athens.

Holy shite, the revenue the city and the Braves would make on drunk UGA students taking a train from Athens to the stadium...

ETA: Not to mention the reduced traffic congestion for Gameday in Athens

Obviously there was a lot of stadium envy and ATL hate pouring forth in the first several pages of this thread.

This thing looks friggin' amazing. It will be one of the premier if not THE premier facility in the country.

Commuter rail (a la NY's Long Island Rail Road) would be a more suitable option than MARTA to Athens.

First thing I thought when I saw it was "Olympic bid."

This is totally a ploy for international appeal, not just "Let's host NCAA tournaments, SEC championships, and Super Bowls"

I don't like it, and I'm a Falcons fan. I wish they'd go with the "Solarium" concept, but tweek it a bit. I want something that I can look out of the back of the endzone and see the skyline.

World Cup bids just got stronger.

SEC Championship going nowhere...ever.

More Final Fours too.

You can almost guarantee a college football playoff game every year. Future NC games too.

Impact seating...is pretty lame.

This isn't Disneyland.

If you need your seat to tremor after every hit to pay attention to the Falcons...then..you...

Wait, nevermind.

Obviously, but something that limits the amount of train switching (hence, MARTA controlling all of it).

There are already some perfect rail lines running from ATL out through Dacula and into Athens (I think Norfolk Southern owns them?). It has always been a personal dream of mine that they would modify Sanford so that the famous railroad tracks behind the East endzone would drop off fans at the stadium.
