If Cam can produce half the development on offense that Chavis produces.

It's crazy that with the same caliber recruits on offense and defense that not one offensive player has been drafted yet. It'll be interesting to see if a backup defensive end (Lavar Edwards) is drafted before the first offensive player is.

We are also going to need our special teams to continue the great play from the last few seasons. And based on who we have remaining on our rosters after the losses from 2012, that is not a given.

How did our D perform last season, in your opinion?

Bama will still always be a pain in our arse. One game that can ruin our season every year.

I would say the defense carried us.

Gave up 14 to Florida because the offense couldn't do a damn thing.

Great game against Bama but gave up the TDs at the end of each half.

Offense couldn't keep the defense off the field against Clemson. Defense played over 100 plays.

Ole miss is the only game I think the d played bad.

Crazy thing is I'm more upset at the loss to Florida than I am to Bama.

Same here. Scoring 6 points was pathetic.

Bama was just a great game bw 2 good teams. It sucked that they scored late in each half but it happens.

. I consider this a bullshite argument. The job of a defense is to keep an offense off the damn field and prevent it from scoring. Our D failed miserably last year on both tasks in multiple games. We got out played and out coached when it counted...Chavis is a damn good coach...but our D got its arse handed to it several times. Offensive ineptness isn't an excuse.

Go ask ANYONE who knows anything about football if offensive ineptness hurts or helps a defense.

As bad as the Clemson game was they still needed a miracle 4th down conversion to beat us.

Because the defense was worn out. The offense sucking against an acc defense isn't partially too blame?

Was Clemson' O worn out from running 100+ plays? Should have been a draw then.

D wins ball games. Stop the other team from scoring...you win. Our D was not up to the task last year and coaching was a large part of the problem.

You make it sound so simple. If opposing team scores more the defense lost the game...if we score more the offense won the game. I have been wrong about this team for a long time...the offense is clearly out performing the defense.

Offense had 2nd and 2 and threw 2 incompletions. Was that the defenses fault also?

Neither played worth a shite against Clemson, I don't think Lsu wanted to even be in this bowl.

Can't agree with your rebuttal. Football is a game that ebbs and flows on momentum. True, our D was in some bad positions in more than one game last year, but when you do get a run going, like Clemson did, our offense could not give our D a break. Given the huge swing with the big Mo, emotions take over on both sides, and Clemson says, "hell, we can play with these boys. Hell, we can win this game". Our O definitely let down against an ACC D that we should have dominated.

Florida loss was all on offense, Bama loss was Miles and the easy defesive scheme on the final drive (I mean pitch and catch).

Clemson loss was a variety of factors. Our freshman right side was constantly blown up by inferior talent. QB went into inconsistent mode. Secondary let Hopkins do whatever he wanted(can't blame that on offense because same thing happened against Idaho and N. Texas). Hill rushes for over a hundred yards (Miles then stops using him).
