No. But I think a mild cool-off before heating backup up for the tournament run is very very natural for a team this good and who started out like this.

Today I had a buddy of mine tell me this theory.
quote:

Basically it states that CPM realized the team was peaking too early so he decided to let the team rest a little and told them try to win, but don't kill yourself for no reason. This is pretty much in line with CPM's status quo of dropping weekday games as well. Kind of like how Mike Scoscia does every year when the Angels coast into the playoffs. It makes sense and is very plausible.

Oh those ever knowledgeable LSU baseball fans...

Dumbest bullshite I think I have ever read...and I seem to say that a lot here.

In a 70 game baseball season, there will be lulls...peaks...valleys. Did anyone realistically expect this team to play at the high level they were playing at 2 weeks ago for the entire season????

The difference is...when average/mediocre teams hit their "lull", they lose games...sometimes 5-6 in a row...or 6 of 8. LSU has seen their play level off a little and are STILL WINNING. That is the sign of a great team.

Holy shite I think I got stupider just from reading the subject line.

That whole post was a complete & utter fail. What coach basically "calls off" his team in the heart of the SEC schedule? And what "status quo of dropping midweek games" are you talking about? How many of those "status quo" games has CPM's teams dropped the last 2 years? You need a new "buddy" if you plan on getting serious about LSU baseball, he's bringing you down man; bringing you down.

Okay I've never heard of Skip purposely losing games. He would never do that, he expected perfection from his players. CPM is too friendly and doesn't enforce strict enough standards IMO. We need Yankee style team rules. That is what will truly seperate us from the wannabes.

After today's game I actually think this theory may be true. Why not rest for the regionals?
