Whats the board's thoughts on how the show will ultimately deal with Shawn's psychic abilities?

I can see it going 1 of 3 ways...

1. Juliette just keeps his secret and they go on like normal. Prob what happens.

2. Shawn will get some kind of "trauma" where he can blame his loss of psychic ability. Really hope they don't go this route.

3. Shawn actually becomes some sort of a psychic. Normally Shawn just solves crimes by being extremely perceptive and finding clues that the rest miss; however, the episode after Juliette found out his secret, his crime solving skills were very different. This episode showed him actually playing out scenarios in his mind based on a series of events and clues in order to come to the conclusion of what actually happened. I really hope the writers pursue this more and allow Juliette to realize that what Shawn does is truly "special" and that he does have a "gift".

SBPD sends he and gus to police academy to just become real cops. And for a full season, not one episode with Ralph Maccio.

To be honest, the psychic thing has been played out for awhile with the whole putting his hand to his head and stuff thing.

Of course, The difficulty is in presenting it in a way that it is believable that police would keep him as a consultant and would not arrest him for fraud or something.

But yeah, I guess it could be argued that he does have some sort of "gift" beyond just a photographic memory. The point could be made that something is drawing him to the specific items he focuses on. It's not like he just does a complete coverage grid scan of the crime scene and then later pulls it back up in his memory and systematically goes from grid to grid

I'm guessing he slips up or comes clean in some way. Although...

His deduction near the end mentions that the gun was lost in a struggle with the first victim. Dreamworld Shawn found the gun, but Concussed Shawn didn't right? I didn't think it was brought up in the "real" timeline until that point. Could have been a writing oversight or a cut scene though, or just me missing me.

solving 100 murders for a town that probably has 0 murders a year in actuality probably grants him some leeway

If they could pull this off in a non-cheesy way that'd be kinda cool.

I'm kinda thinking that Shawn is forced to tell everyone his secret in the finale

Hes a lock to figure out any crime that happens in the city, i think they would let it slide that he faked the whole psychic thing

Lassie would kill himself finding out Shawn is just flat out a better detective than him all things being equal.

My guess:

1. Juliet keeps his secret. They move to California and have a daughter.
2. He expands his psychic con and ends up doing TV shows where he ends up pissing off a serial killer.
3. The Serial killer then kills Juliet and his daughter
4. Shaun goes into hiding for 5 years until he eventually begins working as a true consultant as a confessed fake psychic under a new name...

Simon Baker.

P.S. Gus ends up being the serial killer because he finally snaps over Shaun's past selfishness and Shaun's outright rejection of him after Shaun's marriage/kids.

Just a theory though.

Don't see this happening

I don't think he will develop any supernatural abilities, but they may explain it in a way that proves he is "special". He does have an eidetic memory, so it's not just obervational, and that's very rare.

They have been focusing more on his observational abilities than his "psychic" abilities for a long time now, especially lately. His visions were much more animated at the beginning.

My real answer. Something big is going to happen and Shaun will be forced to confess.

The chief has been playing dumb all along. She always knew the truth deep down. In the end, Shaun becomes what he always was supposed to be...a true detective.

See the end of last season with the police hat foreshadowing.

I could definitely see this being the series finale.

That's what I'm thinking. They bring in a crazy serial killer who knows the truth, and threatens to keep killing unless Shawn admits he's lying.

I could see this as well

If you think about it, only two major characters DON'T know the truth right now.

4/6 know. So...it's kinda already out of the bag in a sense from the audience's perspective.
