OFFICIAL Dallas Cowboys Draft Day/War Room Discussion

Keep it all here Cowboys fans.
Dallas currently has the 18th pick in round one. There has been much buzz about who the cowboys want and who actually will still be on the board when they get on the clock at 18. The glaring needs are O-lineman, Defensive Tackle and Safety, but that doesn't mean the cowboys will go that direction.
According to sources Dallas has only 16 players with first round grades in this draft, so trading back to the end of the first round may also be an option--One I would fully support if a difference maker is not there at 18.
In my opinion, if Warmack, Cooper, Richardson, Vaccaro are not still on the board, then you trade back in the first round or move to the 2nd and pick up another pick or two. I don't see the Cowboys trading up again this year.

I hope they go O-Line. Romo needs some protection.

Rumors swirling right now that it might be UNC DT Sylvester Williams at the #18. And hey, it has been a while since we've taken a disappointing UNC lineman with our first round pick, so why not?

I would not take williams at 18. you definitely trade back at that point or take a WR like Hunter. Williams is not a difference maker.

It sounds like the 49ers may be trading up to take Richardson, otherwise that's who I would hope somehow falls maybe due to character concerns.
Otherwise, I think we do trade down and hope someone can fall to us later. I'm not sold on Vacarro either and hope he is gone by our pick

Damn you Ryno. I had never even considered Jerry doing something as stupid as taking a WR in the first round this year. Now I'm anxious.

Reading Minny wants Te'o bad and wants to move ahead of Chicago at No. 20 to select him. Cowboys could be a trade partner and move from No. 18 back to 23 or 25 and pick up an extra second sound pick. Not bad.

Not to hijack this thread but that's like the Tebow of this year. I will laugh my arse off if anyone takes him in the 1st round

Yep. If Vacarro isn't there or one of the guards, might as well do the trade and pick up the extra pick

Casserly and Pioli are doing their mock on the NFL Network right now and sent Vaccaro to the Cowboys. Not enamored with him at all but it seems like him and Sylvester are the two names most often tied to us
Also had the Bears take Te'o at 20, so that option to trade with the Vikings seems to be there if they so covet the Catfish

this draft is deep at safety, hoping we don't take on at 18. you can get reid in the second

I'm not saying they should take a WR at 18. I'm saying if they can't find a partner to trade out of that pick with, then I would not take Sly Williams. I would rather take a skill position guy like Hunter or even Eddie Lacy

I'm hoping we trade down and get more in the second. But who knows with Jerry.
I prefer OL to anything. I'd like to see an LSU player join this team, the ones that stand out to me are: Bennie Logan (3rd maybe?) Reid or Spencer Ware in the 6th-7th.
I am not suggesting we draft all 3 of them, but any one of them would be a good addition.

I hope that d tackle from missouri is there or one of the bama guards

I agree. a top notch 3 technique tackle is a must in the draft (or a trade for a current player on another roster), whether first round or 2nd. They also need to go O line with one of the first two picks. they simply can't have a $100M QB running for his life on every play again. bad business.
I also think we need a viable running back in this draft, Stepfan Taylor, Leveon Bell, Bernard from NC would be good targets in rds 3-4

THIS
Hopefully one with a little run-blocking background too.

A DT rotation of Ratliff, Hatcher, Lissemore and Richardson would be pretty sweet in the middle

FWIW Mayock has Star Lotulelei coming to us at 18
