Do any of yall do this? I am moving back to my home town of Oak Grove, La. I am a crop adjuster and sometimes get a good bit of time on my hands. I figured this would be something I would enjoy and could make a dollar or two in the process. If yall know anything about it or maybe have some other ideas that are outdoor related then I would like to hear about it.
I know a couple people that used to do it but not sure how to get in touch with them anymore.

What exactly are you trying to do?
The state has a list of people as far as alligators go, and good luck getting in that. LDWF has those spots locked up for their buddies and I've met people that applied and were straight up told "No, I don't like you."

I dont think you can if you are doing it for the W&F Nuissance Control. I think that you get paid when you hand in the beavers you have killed.
ETA: I am not just looking to trap beaver and sell the hides, if that is what you are asking. I used to trap alot when I was younger. My dad snares coyotes and sells them and I will prolly do that when I get back over there too.

Get in touch with the fur and refuge section of LDWF, they should be able to help you out. If you cant find a number let me know.

I found a number for a Steve Hughes on the W&F website and he is from Forest and does it. I LVM for him. Maybe he will call back with some more info.

Folks buy them to run with hounds. Fox Pen's.
I know a guy that was Nuisance Trapper down in the Central Part of the state, Beavers, Yotes and Bobcats mostly.
He'd rather catch 2-3 Yotes than kill a 150" buck.
State eliminated his position. I think he still does it for private landowners. Darn good guy.

Meaning people use the yotes to have practiced on with Hounds chasing them or they actually run with them to catch other prey? Never heard of this.

That use a coyote to take the place of the fox for training

people chase the yotes with foxhounds and the dogs rip them apart. Foxes are hard to get but yotes are everywhere. They do it in high fences specifically for fox/yote hunting. They also drink whiskey and bet on whose dogs will catch. That dude on bayou billionaires (gerald) has a fox pen and some champion dogs. It is more fun than it sounds.
