Day 1 Wednesday -single elimination
#6 USCe Vs #11 Auburn
#7 Alabama Vs #10 Texas A&M
#8 Ole Miss Vs # 9 Kentucky
#5 Miss. St. Vs # 12 Tennessee
Day 2 Thursday- double elimination
#3 Arkansas Vs #6/#11
#2 LSU Vs #7/#10
#1 Vandy Vs #8/#9
#4 Florida Vs #5/#12
Just by looking at new format at winning percentage coming into this weekend. I like our chance maybe throw bonvillan and McCune game 1 set up nice for Nola vs Stanek on Friday, eades Saturday vs ?whoever? And take our chance Sunday

SECT is meaningless for a team like us

It's crazy to think this LSU team has played as well as any LSU team up to this point in the season ever, yet we're still considered a 2 seed.

I personally would hope the bracket would stay as is with us playing T a&m or bama in first match up. So what the standard for the series that start on Thursdays do we mess up Nola Friday, eades Saturday or do we move them up a day ?

If we keep up our current pace, I wouldn't care if we go 0-2 in Hoover.

I think we make it to Friday with minimal effort then if CpM cares possibly make a push for Sunday.

do you think Arkansas will go Stanek vs. South Carolina in the first game? or do they stay with their "Friday" pitcher.

I think it will depend on the standings after the next 15 games. Who they open up with, how far they may need to get into the tourney to boost for a host spot, etc.

The interesting thing will be to see when they throw Stanek in the last 2 series. With the last series being thurs-sat and the tourney 3 days later, do they throw him on Thurs, Tues, & Sun (SECT semis or finals)? Do they throw him game 2 as they have been which would be Friday and then possible turn around on Wed and Sun again in the SECT? Alot for the coaches to consider for any team that will be bubble top 8, bubble hosts, or even bubble regional teams.

If we have nothing to play for (which hopefully we shouldn't), we would likely treat both games as a midweek game.

If for some reason a national seed is in doubt, I think we would see the weekend rotation starting with Nola on Wednesday.

Yeah as for LSU, I see no reason not to throw Nola on wed and Eades on Thurs. After that, who really cares so just Johnny Wholestaff the rest of the way. Of course this assumes we are already in a top 8 seed position after May 18th.

I almost pay zero attention to the SEC tournament...and I am sure if the coaches all had their way, they would vote it out of existence. It is a ridiculously long event, right on the heels of the most important part of the season.

Absolutely no brainer here. get rid of all conference tournaments. regular season champ gets the automatic bid.
