104.5 ESPN's auction to play golf with former LSU football players

First off, let me say, I totally get where they are coming from and raising money for Dreams Come True is awesome.
However, I could NEVER see myself trying to win an auction to play golf with a kid who played football at LSU, no matter how good they were.
Yesterday, it was Drew Alleman. No chance.
Today, it's Jarrett Lee. While he might be a step above playing with Alleman (just to pick his brain on his time at LSU), there's still no chance I'm putting up money for that.
I'd be happier just giving money to the foundation and helping the kids.

Why is that? It'd be kind of cool. Listen to their stories of the team.

Then do that
And let someone who would LIKE to play golf with them, do that.

thats why i said Lee would be a tad bit cooler. I couldnt care less about playing 18 with Alleman. Seriously.
I'd just want to pick JLee's brain about his time there.
At the end of the day though, I really dont care either way. They are 23ish years old. That just doenst appeal to me at all.
Call me crazy. I still love LSU. I'd just never do that.

exactly. i was just seeing what others opinions were.
Nothing against anyone who would enjoy it. I'm just saying it wouldnt be mine thing.
If you'd enjoy it, then more power to ya, man!

OK. Then don't. What am I missing here?

I don't see how this would be a big draw either. You get a superstar like Shaq or someone else, yeah maybe.
You gotta think about it though, alot of LSU football players don't play golf. Alot of them aren't polished enough as humans to put in an enviroment like this, so basically the charity event admins probably didn't have too many options when selecting former players to pick from.

You are also getting to play in golf tournament at a very nice golf course for a trip to Hawaii. If I was good enough at golf and I knew the former player was good, why not. Also, as stated, one of the best foundations to donate money to IMO

Wing and I would end up riding around the course, drinking and ducking off to smoke bowls on hole #5

Lee would be worth it for insight to what happened from Bama game 11/5 to 1/9

It would be better if they offered this with current coaches. Much more to talk about...
