Can a pseudonymous user be traced and identified by law enforcement?

That depends on the measures the user took to protect her identity

Bitcoin isn't ready for the masses yet. I don't think this is in dispute. Baby steps...

, the 53rd most popular web site in the US accepted it
"Most popular"???

What does 'most popular' have to do with being a "major business"???

Revenues, wiki, that's what counts as far as being a "major business."

Here is a list of the Top 500 U.S. and Canadian businesses based on online sales revenues. And Reddit AIN'T on the list. Nope, not even in the top FIVE HUNDRED!!!! LINK
And just in case you're wondering, WordPress is not on the list either. 21st in the world, eh?

Why do you lie when you know what you're claiming can be easily fact checked?

Read my post again. If you still can't figure out how wiki lied, I'll explain it to you.

He implied that bitcoins were being accepted by major businesses, indicating Reddit and Wordpress were "Major Businesses" based on their popularity rating. re: Western Union, MoneyGram execs: opportunity for bitcoin to be used through WU/MG

quote:

Bitcoin:
(1) Decentralized
(2) Utilizes cryptography (hence the term "crypto-currency")
(3) Pseudonymous

(1) With one exchange handling 80% of the btc currency exchange transactions and when that exchange has problems the bitcoin collapses in value, you can't claim it to be decentralized. It is VERY centralized.

(2) Cryptography is over hyped since we've seen numerous cases of thousands of bitcoin owners being robbed of their bitcoins by hackers.

(3)
quote:

pseu·don·y·mous [soo-don-uh-muhs]
1. bearing a false or fictitious name.

2. writing or written under a fictitious name.
Definition of pseudonymous

I don't think your word means what you think it does. Are you SURE you meant to use that word to describe Bitcoin???

Pseudonymous is the proper term for it. I have used it many times when discussing bitcoins. I may have also used terminology like "mostly anonymous" or "potentially anonymous" all to describe the same concept. However, pseudonymous is the proper terminology.

Buttcoins are anonymous, which makes them superior to bitcoins. Chuckie Cheese Tokens are also anonymous, btw.

Chuckie Cheese Tokens> Bitcoins

Last I checked, bitcoins trade for over $100/each.

What are buttcoins and CC tokens worth?

Buttcoins aren't for sale, they are priceless.

CC Tokens are $.25 USD, but they do have intrinsic value, which makes them infinitely more valuable than bitcoins.

"Intrinsic value" huh?

Would you rather have 100 CC tokens in your pocket or one lousy bitcoin in your e-wallet?

Well since 1 Bitcoin= $100 USD, and $100 USD= 400 CC Tokens, I see you are trying to trap me into saying I'd take the bitcoin. Well

I don't have an e-wallet, but I do have a 5 year old nephew who will help me pick up stray milfs at Chuckie Cheese if I promise to use those tokens to win him an Angry Bird's plush toy. So,

100 CC tokens = Fun day with my nephew + Milf arse in the evening, and Fun Day with Nephew + Evening Milf arse > $100 USD, and $100 USD = 1 Bitcoin

THEREFORE, 100 CC tokens in my pocket > 1 Bitcoin in my non-existent e-wallet.

So it requires constant vigilence on the part of a user to prevent law enforcement from being able to trace a Bitcoin wallet owner. Doesn't that erode the convenience of using Bitcoins to conduct transactions as efforts must be made to avoid detection? It kind of rules out spontaneous purchases.

With Buttcoins, you don't have to deal with this nonsense.

Buttcoins
