I meant in terms of the type of businesses.

Uh oh. It's gonna be hard for Wiki to recover from this obvious blunder. But it will be interesting to see how much spin he gets on the ball.

Let's analyze the facts:

I made no qualifications in my initial statement about Facebook and their model for accepting users. I simply said that Facebook didn't have a billion users at its inception. That they chose to slowly grow the network by allowing new users was a business decision. It is actually irrelevant to my point, though.

But even if we accept the moving of the goal posts (which, by the way, is a common tactic used by that moron), he still fricking lied.

So that the goal posts can't be moved later on: What would it take for bitcoin to be a success, in your opinion?

Oh wait, I already asked you this and you said it would require a major business accepting it. So then I pointed out that reddit, the 53rd most popular web site in the US accepted it, and you dismissed that as not major enough.

So then I pointed out that WordPress, the 21st most popular web site in the WORLD accepted it, and you dismissed that as well.

You like to move the goal posts too.

You're lying again. You said because FB didn't have a billion users at its inception so it was a failure.

But btc is not at its inception. It has been in operation for 4 1/3 years.

I didn't. YOU DID.

he still fricking lied.
I admit I was mistaken about the billion users, but it was getting damn close and growing fast. It wasn't an intentional lie. Yours was.

I'm sure lot's of bitcoiner's have blogs , But those are free. I'd be curious to see who has purchased the wordpress premium service with bitcoin. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say IT HAS NEVER frickING HAPPENED EVER, because anybody (besides those douchey twins)who can afford that service wouldn't be caught dead owning bitcoins.

How is bitcoin different from FB Credits? From a tech standpoint?

Holy shite, are you seriously asking this question? Do you not read anything I post? Have you not investigated bitcoin at all?

Bitcoin:
Decentralized
Utilizes cryptography (hence the term "crypto-currency")
Pseudonymous

Facebook Credits:
Centralized
Does not utilize cryptography
Not pseudonymous

I'm just guessing, I don't know. But I've seen the cost of some of their services running at pretty steep prices. I'm sure big box retailers can afford to use it, but your average business owner cannot.

Ok, but they are both pieces of code on a computer screen are they not?

Also noticed you used the term
quote:

Pseudonymous
. Are bitcoins anonymous, antonymous, autonomous, eponymous, homonymous, paronymous, synonymous, theonomous, or Pseudonymous now?

Pseudonymous is the proper term for it. I have used it many times when discussing bitcoins. I may have also used terminology like "mostly anonymous" or "potentially anonymous" all to describe the same concept. However, pseudonymous is the proper terminology.

There are significant fundamental differences. But if you wish to think of them like that, feel free to do so.

It still amazes me how so many of y'all who do not understand the technology, and therefore can't appreciate the revolutionary implications of it, can dismiss it so easily.

I freely admit the subject is not in my wheelhouse.

You've tried to explain its advantages, I just don't see them all as advantageous, and the few advantages that bitcoins do have aren't EVEN REMOTELY worth the hassle of dealing with the cumbersome currency or its RIDICULOUS volatility.

I also dismiss it because: I don't trust the entity behind the currency. I cannot use bitcoin to buy groceries, order a pizza, pay my utility bills, or put gas in my car. I don't trust the majority of bitcoin users. There is no way bitcoin can benefit me WHATSOEVER. Just like Facebook credits, W.O.W. Gold, or even Unicorn Farts.
