@JucoRecruiting: Deng Deng of Lee College has decommitted from LSU and will return to Lee for his sophomore year for JC.

I guess that makes the scholarship number work, right?

Right now it works. If Brian Bridgewater announces LSU on Wednesday, then we're back to trying to fit 14 into 13 slots.

Correct. Now everything will work as is, but LSU may not be done.

I think this is the main reason. We wanted him with 3 years to play and I think it didn't work out that way.

Truth.

Lee College assist. Marcus Lee confirms Deng Deng will return for soph year. LSU offer contingent on early graduation, which didn't happen

Then I wouldn't necessarily call that a decommitment. More like a failure to do his share of the work.

Would you like me to change the title?

I suppose "Deng Deng and LSU officially part ways..." would be more fitting, but it's good enough now imo.

What's the status on Malone? Shouldn't he be signing soon?

This was pretty well known. Darcy Malone was brought in to replace him.

Would he have had 4 years to play 3 since he was only a freshman at Lee JC?

ETA: I see the clarification above. Dude wasn't ready academically.

Yeah, I like the roster we'll have now going into 2013. I would prefer them just saving the scholarship for next season, but I trust JJ and Kirby

I don't know about Bridgewater, but I'd take a raw 7' center over a raw 6'8" PF every day. Especially considering their age differences.

Future150: Alabama, Miss. St., and LSU are all interested in 2016 SF Darius Hicks of Quitman HS (MS). UAB, Florida A&M, Memphis, and VCU have inquired.

Since we have a fellow Bama poster here. Applies to both LSU and Alabama. Just happen to run by this any info on this kid?
