First, I'm not here to bash them. I've listened to several of their songs and I respect their musicality, but when I think of bands that get as much of a following as they've seem to have gotten, I excpect some pretty groundbreaking or an original sound and I just don't hear it.

link me some songs that will change my mind

as I said, I'm not here to bash them or their die-hard fans, but would rather be educated on them and some songs that I should know

Because we on the Music Board are one big happy family, and we share our musical opinions.

I don't care if you hope every team in the SEC gets the death penalty, spend your days spreading AIDS at abortion clinics, and your nights trolling the Rant, but here on the MB you will conduct yourself like a gentleman.

I don't get it personally. It seems like I should like them but I just don't.

it comes off as stale and awkward to me for some reason

I think the songs aren't bad when it comes to the arrangements, but the lyrics are pretty trite

I don't mind them but I'm with most of the MB in thinking that they aren't all that special.

Indie folk is the popular trend right now with hipsters and they're the biggest name in that genre. They'll be playing the Varsity or Spanish Moon in a year or two after this fad dies out.

I think Sigh no More definitely was unique in the sense that, while is was essentially indie pop/rock, not many bands had that folk banjo thing going. The songs on that album were pretty similar and their creativity didn't really shine through.

I think Babel is sort of the same way, but now with bands like the Lumineers and Of Monsters and Men getting mainstream notoriety, their sound is even less unique and their musical evolution is even less noticeable or impressive.

Either way, I guess I like them well enough. I really enjoy Lover of the Light lately.

I don't dislike them, but I get annoyed when I hear them and about them all the time. I don't get the love for them either. All their songs sound the same
