Which 22 would you get? Help me spend a few $

Like most of us I'm finding it difficult to get enough supply of ammo for my AR15 I've decided to dive into a 22. It's easier to overspend on 22 ammo than 223/556. I don't want to spend a ton of money on the rifle but do want something that's going to be fun to learn at the range.
Is it worth getting something semi-automatic like:
Mossberg® 715T Flat Top .22 LR Semiautomatic Tactical Rifle
or is that overspending for a product?

Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 is closer to an AR15 platform... and is extremely fun to shoot.
$450 to $500, and worth every penny, imo.

Yeah, what he said!
I had the mossberg. Shot it once and sold it. It's the lowest quality "tactical" 22 out there. It's just a Mossberg 702 Plinkster receiver and barrel surrounded by an AR-style clamshell housing. It's a pain in the arse to clean and doesn't cycle very well unless you use only the premium grade 22 ammo. Plus, every time you clean it you'll have to remove anything that's attached to the rails in order to split the halves apart. Which means constant re-sighting of any and all sights/optics.
Watch this YouTube video to see how it disassembles.
If you want a true AR-style 22, I strongly recommend the S&W M&P 15-22. There's no comparison between the two. The 15-22 blows the mossberg out the water. I love mine!
It's hard to find right now, but be diligent and patient and you can find one for MSRP or even less!
Also, check out the Sig 522. It's a Swiss style Tactical 22. I'd put it even or slightly better than the 15-22 in the Quality dept and from everything I've read and seen, it's said to be a better shooter. Had a guy at the range next to me one day raving about it. I shot it and he shot my 15-22 and we both had the same impressions but I prefer the style of the 15-22 better. It's also much better supported by the aftermarket for accessories and such since it's a nearly exact AR platform. From what I've been told, AR trigger assemblies drop right into it.

Third or forth or whatever for the 15-22. It's a great little gun and lots of fun to shoot.
My 6 yr old loves it.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'm on the search for the Smith & Wesson M&P15-22. Really more than I wanted to spend but if it's worth it I'll keep my eyes peeled for one.
Wish I could find one second-hand.

+1 on the Smith and Wesson. It is the only dedicated .22 that is actually an AR

All depends on what you are getting it for I guess.
I mean, if you are expecting to single point sling it and smoke some zeros with the deadly 22 cal. force AND dont want fear of hanging up once out of 500 rounds ...ya you better put out the extra money.
But if you are plinking/beer can shooting/squirrel pop'n...then get the one that fits your budget and enjoy the gun.
I have both models mossberg and the M&P and they are both are a ton of fun. I have put well over 3k rounds through my mosberg and have only had a handful of misfires. And that is with every type of ammo I could find. Expensive, cheap, CCI, Centurion...etc And really, who gives a shite about a misfire every 500 shots when you are poke'n paper or tearing tin cans???
