I don't have any connections so if any of you OBers have had a good experience, I'd appreciate a name and contact number.
Preferably within 80 miles of BR, but will drive further if need be.
You can post here or email me at; lazzy1@me (dot)com
Thanks!

I would open up my search area to 250 miles unless you ride a bike. No sense in limiting yourself on choices by distance

I'm willing to, but I'm not familiar with what the options are. If there are several recommendations in the area, I'll do that. If it's slim pickins around here; will go where I need to.

I know this dog and bitch. I would take one of these if I was in the market.
Litter is in LA. Repeat Breeding. Took place early February. 4 generations of GRHRCH's, numerous FC/NAFC/CNFC's in 5 gen pedigree (see bottom of page). Previous breeding produced “type A” personality dogs with intense drive. Several are now competing in AKC and UKC hunt tests.
GRHRCH Woodswitch’s Bayou Boomer MH
Boomer has 4 consecutive Grand Passes, 6 consecutive Master passes, placed 3rd in an 81 dog Pro Division SRS Qualifier at the 2011 Huntsville, AL Classic (One of if not the largest known SRS field to date) and qualified for the 2012 SRS Crown Championship. Boomer continues to compete in the Grand, AKC Master tests, as well as SRS events.
OFA Hips: LR-177084G25M (Good), CERF: LR-366652 (Normal), EIC & CNM: (Clear)
DOB: 06/28/06
HRCH Jolt’s A Shot For That
Annie has Master passes, first Master pass while still a 1 year old, HRCH at 15 months old doing so with 5 consecutive Finished passes. Extremely athletic, full speed on blinds like she is on her marks. Intense prey drive. This will be her last litter for several years so that she can continue running AKC tests to obtain her MH title. Her sire Jolt had 6 Grand passes, was QAA, Open placement, and is in the Master National Hall of Fame.
OFA Hips: LR-195760E24F (Excellent), CERF: LR-365695 (Normal), EIC (Carrier), CNM (Clear)
DOB: 11/25/09

Justin Williams is a solid dude as well. He is a vet and loves playing the retriever games.

Thanks for all of the info. I will contact the names provided by all of you above.
This will be a companion dog for the family (kids 13 and 11) not a hunting dog. I'm sure chasing tennis balls and such, but probably won't be hunting. Does that matter? I'd hate to get a dog bred from a hunting line and then have it miserable or over hyper just running around with the family.
Is this an irrational concern or something I should consider?
Thanks again for the insight!
I will update this thread with a picture once we get the little guy picked out.

definitely something to consider. Any lab you end up with will most likely need exercise. Give the numbers a call and see what they say. Some breeders want to see their pups going to homes that hunt but you don't know unless you ask.

I have one that was bred to hunt and perform and has, but she is right at home chasing tennis balls with the kids and laying in the couch.

That dog matured fast. At 2 years old she needed daily exercise believe it or not.

She gets a pretty goo bit around here believe it or not.
She chases bikes around the neighborhood with the kids and gets thrown probably more tennis balls than she cares to get each day.
