Finally started watching Firefly last night (obvious early series spoilers)

and wow. it's amazing. the cast is absolutely perfect from the beginning. Nathan Fillion's sarcastic humor and one liners, along with Adam Baldwin's perfect commentary (much like his character in Chuck) make this show great.
even in the pilot, it was obvious that this cast had some MAJOR chemistry together. It really does seem like Mal and Zoe have this genuine bond from their days in the war.
I've wanted to watch this for a long time now, but I didn't know how I'd like the format of the space western being so literally western, but it ended up being one of my favorite aspects of the show. I love the theme of the Serenity crew being on hard times and it being a struggle to find work, especially after the train heist episode when the crew realized they weren't so desperate as to take the community's only medical supplies just for some cash.
frick Fox viewers for not watching the 2 best shows Fox has ever had in AD and Firefly.
I knew Fillion and Baldwin were on this cast along with Alan Tudyk, but I didn't realize how great the rest of the cast is. Jewel Staite, the love of my childhood from Flash Forward and Cheats is amazing as always in it. I loved Gina Torres from the few Suits episodes I've seen, and she's even better in this show.
I also loved how they introduced Sean Maher's character, the doctor, as mysterious and sketchy, but then later have explanations for all of his suspicious behavior. And of course, the relationship between Mal and Inara is golden. I love the "companion" aspect of the future world they created.
TL;DR:
through the pilot and first episode, this show and cast are phenomenal. I'm loving every minute of it thus far.

The kids and I watched the show a few months ago and just watched Serenity a few weeks ago. It is a great run all the way through.
I really think they could make another movie and it would be a huge blockbuster.

Yeah, very good show. Sucks it stopped so soon, but I'll take that over a show that goes on for too long.

I'm already hooked, so I'll probably finish the series in the next couple days then watch Serenity.
I think it would make a ton of money to make another film. the cult following since the show originally aired is much like Arrested Development and I think it would do just as well as AD is now.

I still need to finish it. I watched another episode over the weekend, and I have two left plus the Serenity movie.
Really sucks that it never caught an audience. I've really enjoyed all of the episodes so far, and have heard that Serenity wraps things up pretty nicely. I'd love it if it was at least a few seasons long. Would've prolly been better had it started on a channel liek SiFi or something like that where it wouldn't need as big an audience to stay on the air.
Also, Out of Gas is great television...easily my favorite episode that I've seen so far. I think you're about 5 episodes away or so.

Only gets better. Watch Serenity after the series. It's a good flick.

Yea, I don't think fox viewers in 2002 and 2003 were ready for the greatness put before them.
It was planned to go for 7 years.

The show was aired in a weird order. The first episode first, then the pilot a few months later

this show elicited two responses from me:
1) i love this show
2) i hate that it didn't continue. it could've been so awesome.
at least AD got some sort of a run...this show did not.

Has done nude scenes in a movie. Google.
You're welcome (although she does have lesbian hair in it).

Nice. I loved the pilot when they told the shepherd she was an ambassador and he was honored to meet her and Mal is like lolz she's a whore for money
Posted on 4/8/13 at 11:23 am to TH03
Yeah it's funny that professional whores are looked upon as high-class royalty.

after you're done with the show read this.

She's not a whore. She's more of the equivalent of a geisha, which isn't quite the same thing.
and Out of Gas is one of the best pieces of TV ever made.
