Can I get an explanation on this thread anchor?

Hoisters Gonna Hoist™
It's a fishing/hunting picture thread, which last time I checked was what the OB forum was created for. It was on topic, and even added by Flair to the OB FAQ. Instead of having all of the pictures in the designated thread, they are now diluting the front page with several new "check out my hoist" threads. It's fishing season and I plan on doing a whole lot of hoisting for the next several months. Is anchoring the original thread worth all the new ones I start to show a picture of my recent catch? You decide
