I'm so sick of this bullshite. I'm gonna make one more attempt to explain things. I'll be out of town most of today and tomorrow, so I'll only be on here sporadically anyway. So frick it, here goes (and it will be long, so strap in).

I don't get how none of you readers can understand the frustration from everyone else. And to be honest, I think you do understand it and you just don't give enough of a frick to respect that this thread is for nonreaders. Ya'll can say "This thread says 'No spoilers', not ' No bookfags'" all you want, but you damn well fricking know that is what it means...ever since the show aired, there as been one thread for people reading the books and one thread for people just watching the shows. So that's a bullshite fricking argument.

There are multiple threads for bookreaders to post in. The huge ASOFAI spoilers thread, the episode threads for bbookreaders, etc. This is the only one for people who only want to watch the show and digest the information that way. The basic, simple, easy "rule" should be that people who read the books should post in their thread and leave this one to the rest of us. But you guys can't fricking do it...you're fricking incapable. You HAVE to be all up in here for whatever reason. I see some of you bitching that the book thread is full of theories and bitching about the show, so you don't want to post in there...well, why not? You can pick and choose what posts to respond to, so you can all have the exact same conversations in that one as you can in here...and the difference is that you won't really spoil anything for people in that thread like you may possibly do in here. So why not just post in there? Because it makes too much sense? Why not just make the other thread better with solid conversation..?

What you don't understand is that you simply can't discuss the show the same way we can. We ask each other questions to generate discussion among people with the same knowledge base. Hint: that's NOT you guys..it's all of us who don't know the answers. Yet you always have to chime in with your "two cents." Even if you are answering direct questions, that doesn't mean those questions should be answered in a thread like this (for no spoilers and no book information). And the problem is that your two cents isn't just that because you're answering shite based on your knowledge of the books. Try as you might, but it is literally impossible for you to ignore the book knowledge that's in your head, so simply put: you can't discuss the show in the same way. So just don't post in here. It's not about "posting spoilers," but rather that the two groups simply can't discuss the show in the same way because they are coming from two COMPLETELY different knowledge-bases of the information.

There's HUGE difference between these: Me (a nonreader) saying something like "Man, I hope they kill Joffrey soon." Because coming from me, I just hate that dude and hope he gets his at some point. However, if a reader (especially a well known reader) says literally the exact same thing, "Man, I hope they kill Joffrey soon," it can mean any number of things. It can be completely harmless and be pure speculation, or it can mean that he's read that in the books and is awaiting the death of Joffrey on screen, or something else. The problem comes in when people don't know where the reader's thoughts stem from, and we're immediately wary of the information. And that kind of situation has happened MANY times before, so it's not like we're just pissing and moaning, getting jimmies rustled, "getting panties in bunches, etc." for no reason...we're trying to prevent shite like that from happening again because we don't want shite fricking up our entertainment of the show.

And it constantly sucks because again, the easiest and most fair way to everyone is for people who have read the books to just stay out of the thread meant for only show-watchers, yet that never seems to happen. We should call a truce...ya'll post in ya'lls thread and we'll post in ours, and that would make things easier and more enjoyable for everybody. We all talk in thousands of threads around here, so we should be able to separate ourselves in threads based on one single show. And shite, believe it or not, I hate bitching about spoilers. But I also hate when people can't respect something as simple as this. We don't want our hands held through this (and if we do, there are threads for that).

So now here we are, and half of this thread has been readers defending their posts in here. Ya'll can point to us and say that we deserve some of the blame, but thats bullshite. Because there would be no "back and forth" and no complaining of readers if they simply weren't posting in here and were posting in the thread that is meant for them. And on top of that, there would be no complaints about readers if they weren't toeing the line of what they post. Defend it all you want, but some of you damn well know you've posted shite in these threads that you shouldn't have. Sure, there are some readers who do a really good job of keeping their mouths shut and not ruining things, but there are also a good group of ya'll that do post stupid shite...and whether it's just fricking with us or not, it shouldn't be in here. I don't know why it continues to happen. This board usually manages to police itself fairly well, especially when it comes to things like spoilers or outside-of-show information, but GoT (and TWD) threads seem to be the worst. I don't get why ya'll can't just stay out of here...and that's not as much of a "Get off my lawn" statement as it is a "Why can't you respect us enough to stay away?" statement. Sometimes, in the past, there have been people flexing their book knowledge muscles in these threads, sometimes people have been honestly trying to be helpful and accidentally let things slip, and sometimes people have just been outright assholes and spoiled shite on purpose. ALL of those scenarios suck for nonreaders. And ALL of those scenarios would have been avoided had readers simply not ever posted. That's what I don't get. It's so obvious and so easy to me (and most of us), yet you guys simply can't do it, or can and refuse to. And that fricking sucks.

So that's it...sorry it's so long, and I hope it makes sense (makes perfect sense in my head, if that matters).

Yeah, I quoted the whole fricking thing because every single word is spot on.

Spot on with the diatribe, but the more we bitch about readers and spoilers, the more likely it is that some alter will show up in next week's thread and drop a bomb.

At this point, I only click on the thread when something big happens, just to see the reactions.

Have any spoiler alters been visiting the thread? There was one in the E1 thread.

Do ya'll (I know you'e quoting and agreeing with someone else) really mean to say this? Cause that's just stupid to say.

In the interests of peace, check out my plan from the Iron Throne thread. It could, in theory, help at least some.

NO SPOILERS IN LINKED POST

I appreciate your proposed solution, but such a thread may as well be the book reader thread. There is no "middle ground" when it comes to revealing information that relates to a linear storyline. One book spoiler, and it instantly becomes "Book Reader Thread 2.0."

my solution is this:

HEAR YE. HEAR YE, WOULD BE SPOILER ALTERS. I WILL BE STARTING A THREAD ON THE HELP BOARD THIS SUNDAY, TELLING ADMINS THAT IF THEY WANT TO GO ALTER HUNTING (which I hear is one of Chicken's favorite hobbies), THEY SHOULD MONITOR THE GAME OF THRONES NO SPOILERS THREAD.

Now, this might have the effect of scaring the alters (at least those who have only one alter) away from the thread, which would prevent admins from seeking and destroying them, but I'd rather that than have even one of them drop a spoiler in the thread.

It's like trolling or punning - a low form of humor that anyone can do. And that concept has TD.com written all over it. As such, it's only a matter of time until some a-hole posts a major spoiler in one of the TV threads. People have done so already. Eventually, people will stay out of the threads altogether.

Not great for the better interests of this site, low movie board traffic notwithstanding.

Ergo, game on, alters.

I am not aware of any alters and haven't seen anything significant posted in any of the nonreader threads.

I feel like GoT spoilers are the M/TV board's Salem Witch Trials.

Well, when they tie a stone to me, throw me in the pond, and I sink, they will then know I am no poster of spoilers.
