I just moved to New Orleans this past August. My entire family is from here, and one thing I have learned is that families are important and close here. When I signed my scholarship for baseball I knew I'd have some new teammates, but I didn't know they'd be my new family. I have everyone of their backs, and they have mine. We are like brothers, and I love them like my real ones. We just got back from a road trip to Clemson, SC. Lately, we've not been playing very well, but this past series we came together and swept the other team. Now to the point, when we got back to school at 4am my friends dad was standing there waiting for us. I had a feeling something was wrong. My friends mom passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning. They are from here, and are great people. They invited me to celebrate Easter with their family, because mine is in Alabama. Fellow OBers prayers are appreciated.

Great people are everywhere.

Be proud to know that you can understand their impact.

Return the same favor to the world one day and you will receive more than you ever expected.

FYI: seriously, cool thread

My condolences to the family and you. I know a little something about this, since I lost my mom back in November at the young age of 57. My prayers will be with yall.

I moved away from home when I was 18 and life hasnt presented the opportunity for me to move back home after 17 years now.... I dont regret any of the decisions that I have made because those decisions have allowed me to provide for my family in a much better fashion. But I sure do miss my home, my family, and the good times that are had when you spend time with those types of people.

I am sure you would want somebody saying that when your mom kicks it. Go do your homework and get to bed...the bus comes early.
