2 of my favorites

Brown Bunny (2003)

"I had a colonoscopy once. They let me watch it on TV. It was more entertaining."

Mastermind (1997)

"I stopped taking notes on my Palm Pilot and started playing the little chess game"

100% agree

nobody liked that movie, and the only reason anyone watched it was to see the BJ scene

That's the one that has always stuck with me.

North needs to be watched by coddling parents today. Who knew that movie would predict a generation like that.

The best review he ever wrote IMO.

North really is perplexing in a frustrating way. Both completely absent of humor and bizarrely confident in its own jokes.

I didn't find out about Ebert's famous review until long after I was first bothered by it.

Roger and Gene really went to town on Dune when it came out.

just read it for the first time.

I hated this movie. Hated hated hated hated hated this movie. Hated it. Hated every simpering stupid vacant audience-insulting moment of it. Hated the sensibility that thought anyone would like it. Hated the implied insult to the audience by its belief that anyone would be entertained by it.

I love his reviews, especially his talent with words and his relative objectivity concerning movies

I liked that movie :(

Of course, I haven't seen it since I was like 12 so who knows if I'd feel the same today.

I agree with him about North. I walked out of this movie with 15 minutes left. I couldn't take it anymore.

Armageddon wasn't a great movie, but it definitely wasn't that bad was it? I've seen far worse.

It's good for all the wrong reasons. It contained over the top everything: acting, set-pieces, melodrama, rah-rah patriotism, special effects, you name it.

I could poop on a blank strip of film, project it on a screen, and it would make for a better viewing experience than Armageddon.

Exaggerate much? Take out the sappy scene with Tyler and Afleck and the movie isn't horrible.

Although I did prefer Deep Impact in the battle of killer asteroid flicks. Freeman for the win.
