Wouldn't be a bad deal for Dortmund if they got a few million pounds out of it as well. Dzeko would absolutely rape the Bundesliga second time around.

him and grafite raped the league in 08-09 most successful duo in league history, dzeko had 26 and 10 in 32 matches. grafite had 28 goals in 25 matches. they topped gerd muller and uli hoeness' record of 53 goals in a season.

Yep. Wolfsburg won the league that season, no? He was shortlisted for the Balloon d'Or that season I believe.

One of the few players who could step in at Dortmund and immediately have an almost identical production as Lewandowski did.

If Asamoah Gyan can get paid over there, Lukas Podolski can.

yeah they won the league and he was at least in the final 30, can't remember if he made it further. leading scorer in club history too. good player, he was seen at a few of their matches this season which led to speculation of his return there, but idk he's a bit too good for them.

Yeahhh.

He's criminally underrated, especially on this board. I'd imagine a season or two at Dortmund would change some people's minds. He simply doesn't fit at City.

i've always thought he was phenomenal, don't watch much ManCity or EPL for that matter, but I believe he had the best goals per 90 minutes ratio last year, shame he doesn't play more. I always hate it when clubs buy players just to buy them. He is a player that should be showcasing for a champions league club somewhere every week.

I like Dzeko a lot, but giving up Reus would be really dumb by Dortmund. Especially since they'll have funds to buy Dzeko straight up (which I hope they do).

I don't know. Losing Reus seems like a matter of "when" to me. I'm certainly not advocating a straight swap. Surely they'd be able to get a few million out of City as well as a class striker. Maybe even get some wages subsidized.

What is Reus' realistic value right now?

Either him or the Little Pea, I'd imagine.

I like Dzeko a lot and dont think it would be all that bad, since its all but certain they are going to lose Lewandowski... They're going to need goals and he'll offer more than Reus...

But yeah, they should be sitting on a lot of cash for Gotze and Lewandowski...

**Dzeko was who I was hoping we'd buy when Torres left, but Man City jumped on him early in the window and Torres held out till late...

good question, I believe they bought him for 23mm and he certainly hasn't disappointed this season, so I would assume as a 23 year old it's a bit higher. Transfermarkt gives pretty unbiased valuations and they have him at 30mm.

just for fodder they have Gotze at 42mm, not sure what it was back in March of 2012 when he signed an extension until 2016. I can't imagine it was much lower than 30mm. You would think they'd plan better for 4 years in the future, especially since he's been regarded as the best German prospect ever since he was 17 or 18. Surely they didn't really think no one would come knocking for 37mm. I mean transfer fees are outrageous these days even for players who really aren't that great.

Those buyouts are negotiated with the player and their agent and often reflect the player/agent's desire for flexibility in leaving the club or, on the other hand, their loyalty to club more than market value.

It's more likely Dortmund wanted a buyout twice that high but Gotze and his agent wouldn't sign on so he could bail more easily after establishing his value to a bigger club.

For example, Roma will renew Erik Lamela and Marquinhos this summer and the big news isn't going to be the salaries or length of the contracts but the buyout clauses.

That's what will tell fans how much they intend to stay at Roma through the end of those contracts and beyond. Or, at least it will speak to their "loyalty" to the club (like a De Rossi (unlimited) or Cavani (€60+m) with Napoli) that insures a massive payout if they do leave.

Just to get this thing going again, el chosen Juan now plays for the NE Revs

And just some rumor mill stuff floating around right now, apparently Schürrle and Chelsea are finishing up personal terms, Dortmund is reportedly zeroing in on Eriksen and today a couple of strong breezes from the Italian south blew in stories of Mario Gomez to Napoli.

Not a transfer, but Anatoliy Tymoschuck announced he signed a 2 yer contract with a European club, but declined to specify until after the season
