Going to be in Thibodaux this weekend and it's been over a year since I've had boiled crawfish. I'm traveling with a team on a bus, so I won't have a vehicle to go anywhere but in the Thibodaux area.

Wanted to see where the best place would be to get some crawfish in the area. Thanks for the help.

mmm...all roads will lead you to Bubbas. The best option(coming from a Thibodaux native) is to head on over to Houma and go to 1921. There are also more options for dine in eating crawfish in Houma than Thibodaux.

First is where are you playing the games at? Take out or eat in is the second? The Bubbas(one of two by that name) is south of the bridges near the downtown. The other place(takeout) is at the corner of 308 and the St Pats highway where you enter the city at the seafood market.

ETA between the two is Rouses for more takeout options.

I was also going to suggest Rouse's supermarket...you can buy 'em boiled, by the pound, with corn & potatoes. A picnic on the bayouside in front of Nicholls would be a nice way to spend a spring afternoon.

Aside from what's been mentioned, Sparky's on Canal is supposed to be pretty good, but I haven't tried them yet. The Foundry has also had them on Fridays and Saturdays.

If you're going to head to Houma, 1921, Big Al's, or Crawfish house are all pretty good.

ETA: Didn't see you were stuck in Thibodaux. I have never bought boiled crawfish in Thibodaux

like many are saying...there aren't too many places to EAT AT and get crawfish, but you can definitely get take out at many places in thibodaux.

Bubbas will be your go-to option on this.

I'm willing to get takeout and bring them back to the hotel. I never even thought about Rouses. I might head that way and give them a try. About how much a pound do they run?

Thanks to all for the suggestions. Depending on how I feel, I may try a couple of the places. I'll be there from Thursday night until Sunday afternoon. We are playing Nicholls in a three-game series.

If you stay at the motel on the 308 side of the Bayou then Bubbas and Rouses are both very short walks for you.

Expect to pay between $3 and $4 per pound, already boiled. The Rouse's on Canal & LA 308 in Thibby is a nice store (branded as an "Epicurean Market") with a large wine/liquor/beer selection.

A friend actually ended up picking me up and we went to Big Al's in Houma. While it was good, they charged $6/pound for them, so I only ended up getting two pounds. I supplemented that with a fried crawfish and fish dinner.

Food was good overall, and the crawfish were a decent size for the most part.

Thanks for all the advice, I appreciate it.
