Hosting a meeting over there in a couple of weeks, and the group wants to meet for lunch. Eight lovely ladies, no dainty appetites. Would like a spot where we can hear each other, and something not too far off the beaten path, since some of us are directionally challenged. Shabby chic/cheap are great if the food is good. The only thing I can think of is Fezzo's. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Jolies, Charley G's, Cafe Vermillion, Dons Downtown, not the Hut,Abbacus,Petroleum Club,Lauras, Creole Lunch House, come to mind depending on what you want food wise and scale. Do Riverside not Fezzos or Prejeans please if that is the type of food you want.

Hi GB! Long time, no see!

You know I'm going to tell you to go to Downtown Don's and get shrimp gumbo with hushpuppies and the salad with the house dressing, don't you? It's not shabby chic, but a good place for a group of girls.

Whirlwind! Work and home have both been crazy. I've had to give up all my bad habits!

I don't know how the lunches are, but had dinner at Bon Temps Grill on Verot School Rd tonight and it was delicious!
