Bass Pro Shops® Pro Qualifier® Baitcast Reels
At $80, with 688 reviews, 4.7 out of 5 stars, and the ability to return it if it sucked, I didn't see it as a big gamble so I bought one this weekend. I am really impressed with the smoothness and the castability. It performs as good as my Lew's amd Shimanos so far.

They have their uses. Ultra-light for White Perch and cork for trout are two uses where I'd rather have a spinner.

I can chunk a spinner in the wind while salt water fishing, but it is a baitcaster all other times.

Yup. Can sling the shite out of this setup.

Can this reel hold up in saltwater?

Crappie Maxx Mighty Lite Low-Profile Baitcast Reel
They're alright for open water like speck fishing where you don't need to stay out of trees or off of someones boat dock. But I'd rather suffer with an ocassional backlash rather than deal with the line twist.

Spinning reels can't consistently catch fish.

Haven't you heard? The diversions have replaced all the saltwater, they'll soon be catching Walleye in Salvador.
ETA Not sure if they'll hold up to Salt but I'll know before summer is over.

I never said that but I fish for enjoyment and I do not enjoy the aggravation I encounter every time I use a spinning reel and I do have one for dropshotting and it's an upsidedown POS.

The aggravation?! I get way more aggravated with my baitcaster than I do with the spinning reel.

I get way more from spinning reels due to twist, but I endur it because there's no way I'm fishing for the perches with a bait caster. I mean zero pernt zero percent chance.

We need to get a fishing trip planned.

We get our capt to cruise by Josey and TM in those yaks and flip their big asses over.
