Moscona brought up an interesting point on the show while I was on my way home.

Fake girlfriends aside, Minter had better numbers, seems to be a more pro typical player, and didn't look like an infant against Bama, yet most draft pundits still have Te'o going top 15-20. Not being a complete homer, I'd think the joke of a game against Bama would be a pretty big knock against Te'o when you've got a guy with good size and combine numbers that had 130+ tackles in the SEC.

It wouldn't shock me to see Minter go first round and Te'o drop out. Do you think NFL teams share the media blind love of everything that is Notre Dame?

Whichever takes Te'o over Minter will be making a mistake. Hopefully Minter comes to the cowboys, I know yall will love that, but a lot of tigers play for the boys

There were half a dozen inside LBs in the SEC better than T'eo. It was obvious in September and it's obvious now.

I said it back during the Heisman Award presentation and I'll say it again: "The fact that Te'o is a Heisman finalist is an absolute disgrace to college football."

Heck, the fact that he won all of those awards. He shouldn't have gotten the maxwell, nor the defensive POY. They hyped him up WAY too much, and it's showing.

2012 Tackles/Game....Te'o at 57

Really the only argument he had was seven interceptions, which was tied for second among all defensive players.

57th in tackling as a linebacker??? For the defensive player of the year?? bullshite.

Minter is 20th, btw.

ETA: I'm having a very difficult time finding this statistic on the ESPN site.

LSU D-Line was better to free up Minter against Bama.

Watch Minter vs. Florida and compare it to any game Te'o has ever played.

Honestly, it's similar to the election. You have the accomplished, competent square vs. the failed "cool" guy. You would think reality would win out and Minter would go higher.

I didn't watch Teo play enough to judge his ability. I don't know enough about line backing anyway even if I had watched. But I think he must be a real stupidass to fall in live with a fake gf, and I wouldn't want someone that dumb leading my defense if I'm a GM.

He seemed to make big plays when Notre Dame needed them the most. I think that's one thing scouts like him over Minter for. I seem to remember he had several clutch moments where he just made a huge play. Like an INT in critical moments. Minter was great but can you say he ever saved a game in a critical moment like that? They probably think he's a better playmaker than the other LBs...

By competent and accomplished, you mean the guy who left his only political office with a 34% approval rating?
