Next with with..

C: Robinson
F: Mickey
F: Martin
G: Hornsby/Morgan
G: Hickey/Gray

Bench: Hammink, Malone, Bridgewater, Morgan, Odo, Patterson & Epps

Nice team.

Longer, and more scoring at the guard position will open up the floor for Mickey, Martin and Robinson.

We should be much improved defensively as well.

Class is ranked 34 on ESPN, but Gray isn't ranked. Surely a kid with other offers from Louisville and Memphis should at least warrant a 3*.

You think Quartermann is transferring?

Hmm.. Left him off. Someone has to go, I guess.

Morgan may not make it back, so replace him on the roster with Quatermann.

Gray will probably get minutes at SG with Hornsby. The scoring punch you would have with either Gray and Hornsby would mean we won't have a scoring liability if one is in for the other.

Imagine we could go small with Hickey, Gray, Hornsby, Martin and Mickey at times and put up some serious points.

Definite possible lineup. LSU will have the privilege to scheme a lot of different ways. Hopefully, Malone will get more minutes next season to allow for more rest/lineup combos.

this will prob be our most effective lineup next year. i'm excited to see martin spend more time on the front line. when he's at the 3 he's got to be in attack mode like he was in the first half wednesday night.

Morgan will be back next year, but I seriously doubt Bridgewater will be a part of the program.

i have heard from multiple ppl that he is probably gone, though i wouldn't believe anything till it's official. his whole recruitment down to the last moment was just strange.

wouldn't write morgan off yet but there may be a chance he isn't ready to start the season. at least if he does come back he will be playing limited minutes anyway and a chance to take his comeback slowly.

you could also have odo leave but i think he will be a more productive warm body next year. then maybe shane wants to go back to europe and start his pro career over there, but i doubt that. think he is in it for the long haul and he probably is coming off his best game of his career the other night.

im excited for hickey's opportunity as a leader. this is going to be his team from a leadership standpoint.

I agree. Really think Hammink will be here for the full 4 years.

I'm not sure about the mins Morgan would get at SG, but he and Shane would be the best options for the backup at SF.

Players transferring for playing time is also a possibility. Will see how it shakes out after the season ends.

One 2014 commit and a couple of 2015 targets made the Dallas Morning News All Area team.

2014 Elbert Robinson of Garland Lakeview Centennial(LSU commit) made third team

2015 Elijah Thomas of Lancaster made first team.

2015 King McClure of Triple A Academy made second team.

DMN All Area Team

Robinson was also DISTRICT 11-5A Co-MVP

My question is why aren't we recruiting LaDamian Keys and can we take both Sampson and Lott. Big, tough, athletic guards get you wins in the tourney and right now we are sorely lacking that kind of talent.

If we only take one. I'll take Sampson over Lott.

LSU has pulled in a big-time prospect from the DFW area each of the last 2 years. Monday's trip to SMU is as much a big recruiting trip as anything else.

Sampson is a must!

Do any of you think, Josh Gray can play near the level of Shabazz Napier? Their games are very similar.

I don't think Josh shoots it as well as Napier but his ball handling will allow him to get in the paint and create good shots for himself and his teammates. Based on film alone, I think he'll be a better distributor who also has the ability to take over a game in crunch time. The players around him will be key. We should make the tourney next year, but when Simmons gets here we'll have Gray, Hornsby, Malik, Sampson?, Lott?, Neuman?, and Patterson as guards. Simmons, Epps, Elbert, Thomas? and a couple more guys at forward. I think Malone transfers next year. But that team could be the best LSU team since 2006.

Keys isn't as good as Elbert and Keys may not qualify. There isn't a big difference between him and Epps. But, Epps actually has a very good outside shot.

And Sampson is full on SG, whereas Lott is being recruited as PG/combo guard. His situation will be interesting, because he won't have the privilege of waiting LSU out.

I'm not sure where the staff stands on Lott, but I remember hearing that the coaches want a PG with just about every class.
