Can I eat this fruit/plant?

There's a mess of these down the road, alot look pretty ripe.

First time posting an image, so cut me some slack if it messes up.



ETA: fruits like the size of a quarter/half dollar. 2 big seeds in the middle.

ETA2: Called Loquats, found them on the becnel website.

looks like paw=haw to me and they are know for a sweet banana flavored fruit.

is that quats or paw paw fruit?

Black seeds int the middle and the fruit is about the size of a baseball to softball =s paw paw fruit...I think. But dont eat it on my guesses!

I just tried it, pretty bitter.

Did not look like the Kumquots I remember eating as a kid in New Orleans.

We called them Japanese Plums growing up. They're delicious and perfect for having wars/pegging cats

eta: they're really sweet once they're ripe

Japanese plums..my dad has a shitload of them around the house..Good to eat...

The remaining ones get 2/3 times bigger than normal.
And yes, the seeds make great projectiles out of slingshots.
