What's the deal with this place in the Quarter? I never heard of it until recently and I hear it is awesome! Can anyone confirm?

It's not awesome and it's definitely not the best poboy in the Quarter. That would be Johnny's on St. Louis, and there's no close 2nd that I know of, unfortunately. Verti Marte is ok if you're drunk and starving at 3am.

Not the best in the world but a very wide variety of options on the menu along with cheap prices and late hours make it pretty great

Very good food. Open 24hrs so it's popular with late night/early morning crowd.

What's great about it? Processed deli meats, waiting 30 minutes for the guy to take your order, crappy bread? They could get fresh bread from Binder within walking distance if they were even trying a little bit.

All i know is they make a damn fine sandwich.
Eta: they make one of the best sandwiches in a food city for under $10. They make great food, and it's relatively inexpensive. Why would anyone hate on Verti Marte?

Last time i was in the quarter for a bachelor party I tore up a chicken fried steak from there around 1am. Then proceeded to find my friend who wandered across rampart. :yikes:

It's great drunk food and the selection is ridiculous. Nothing like a chicken fried chicken hot plate lunch at 2 am.
