Do we have any interest in him?

I'm new to this so don't kill me. Just wondering.

With Lofton, MLB is not a position of need for us. I think its a damn shame that Urlacher will be playing somewhere else.

He was given the option of a one year $2 million deal from the Bears.

He turned it down.

Saints probably wouldn't offer that even if we actually needed an ILB, which we don't.

Because we're not a 4-3.

Not only that, but I'm pretty much spent his entire career playing in a Tampa 2.

This.

Plus the fact that he's near retirement anyway. Doesn't have much left in the tank.

"You can't create players. You have to draft the board based on what your options are. As soon as you start taking players truly based on need, if they can't fill that need, then you have to come back the next year or the next pick and you're drafting again for the same spot and you haven't filled anything other than putting a name on a piece of cardboard and putting it up on the depth chart.” - Bill B.

If Urlacher is available, you take him and worry about depth during training camp. Take the guy.

He's an aging 4-3 MLB who has played in a 4-3 his whole career.

Would be our defensive equivalent to Olin Kreutz.
