In my opinion his highlight tape is far more impressive than Patterson or Mingo. He doesn't seem raw to me. Kid looks like a football player and has very good instincts.

Exactly his instincts remind me of TM7 but with a OLB/DE size to boot.

Welcome aboard

ETA: I hope the staff is recruiting him as an OLB. That's where he wreaks the most havoc.

What level of competition was he up against in that highlight tape?

Don't to want to be a douche here but that kid is built to be a 3-4 OLB. I want him bad but does he fit our 4-3 run stuff strategy? I just hate to see talented kids end up in a place where they can't get playing time/win. Kids who are good should get played and he looks pretty damn good on film...

Well, let's see. The coaches offered him, so. . . yep, I'd say he probably fits our scheme.

I see a world-class athlete, but maybe a tween-er that doesn't fit our scheme which is a textbook 4-3. Really hope I'm wrong though. Would be awesome seeing him rush the QB and play the outside. Kid definitely has crazy athletic skills but I wonder if he is a better fit at some other mouth-breather school that wears crimson and plays a 3-4?

That is exactly the type of guy Chavis likes.

Yeah I think one of Chavis' strengths is that he knows how to utilize playmakers. His defensive scheme seems like a textbook 4-3, but polar opposites like Mingo and Montgomery can both thrive in the same system. Think about how different all of our LBers look as well.

I could be wrong but aren't they in a 4-3 defense for the majority of his highlights?

I watched his highlights and I really like him. For recruiting nowadays even though its only a soft verbal I lean more towards "one in hand...." thinking. As others have said if the coaching staff likes him than I have no problem with it. D-Line under Brick and Miles, or a LB under Chavis he cant go wrong. I tok hope some of these other guys begin to not feel pressured but get excoted and commit earlier.

Does he not remind anyone of Michael Patterson? That's who I immediately thought of when looking at the film.

Looks more like a Jarvis Jones clone to me. He's the exact same size coming out of high school, really fast off the edge and very physical. He should put on 25-30lbs in 2 or 3 yrs and be an absolute monster off the edge, while still being pretty decent in coverage with the flexibility he possesses.

Les and his staff take real pride in their evaluations, as he stated in that article earlier today. I think this one is a prime example of a staff doing their homework. This is a kid that is physical and athletic enough to fit ANY scheme, like Bruce Irvin with West Virginia two years ago. All that's left I believe is a face to face visit to put Rhaheed through the eyeball test and make sure they are on the same page. I surely hope that this one sticks folks.
