And a rut trapping water = pond

PHYSICS
You could figure out at what positions you could be to hear the muzzle blast and impact of the bullet at the same time (which isn't exactly halfway because we will not neglect air drag)

Apparently a .223 cant either.

ALWAYS neglect air resistance
(Especially when talking about hunting calibers, won't make much difference)

I get so tired of saying this.
You can kill a 2000lb brahma bull with a .22lr and you can kill a chinchilla with a .50bmg
Does that mean they're good for it? Hardly.

That's what we have matlab and nerd friends for.
I wonder if I can write a program for "caliber killing effectiveness?"

I wanna see your equation for shot accuracy
Unless you make it a range with dependent damage variable

Someone PLEASE post a slow motion vid of this carnage!

I wouldn't hesitate to shoot a deer with my 22/250. I would prefer not to but if that's what I have in the stand at the time then that's what I'm gonna use.

I know a guy who has a 50. I guess we just need to find a chinchilla

Hell we can upsize to a standard cottontail if need be. It should result in the same big poof of fur and organs.

IMO, caliber is important but the bullet is more significant. I'm not too keen on the Hornady V-Max bullets as others for hunting whitetail.
A 22-250 is plenty to take down a whitetail with a shot to the vitals and a proper bullet.

I know a homosexual that has a pet chinchilla, perhaps we can steal it for this experiment.

I may be in the minority but that round would be fantastic for head shots on does.

The chinchilla or the non heterosexual?

His Chinchilla.
It's my neighbor, he freaks me out.
Maybe if we steal his chinchilla I can convince him to move because the area is too dangerous?

No you can't write a program called caliber killing effectiveness because you still don't understand that holes in deer mean lost potential energy and the fact that a lightweight fast bullet still is going to knock holes in them 99% of the time BECAUSE THEY'RE WHITETAIL DEER AND NOT CAPE frickING BUFFALO. So you lack the fundamentals here.
That said, I wouldn't WANT to use a 22-250 on deer. If I did though, I'd never take anything but a rock solid perfect shot with it. And I can promise you, they would turn off like flipping a switch.
