Xbox 360 Controller for Windows PC

I don't want to buy the $50.00 MSFT package so what do I need to get to use my 360 controllers on my PC?
I see a few wireless controller hubs for sale but lots of the reviews say they are garbage.
Point me in the right direction Oh gloriously supreme intelligent members of the master race.

I bought the wired version for windows off amazon. Works great.

Just rolled the dice and bought a cheap controller hub from amazon.

Just buy the Microsoft brand wired controller. I wouldn't fool with off brand, and it has to be wired. Like others said 35 bucks at Walmart. No BS to install, works perfectly, just plug it in.
Clarification. Cannot be the play an charge variety. Must be hard wired at all times.

I have one but don't like having to control the camera separate of movement.
