Doing my morning google map scan to kayak and found this place, anyone in the NWLA area ever been out there. Seems like a perfect day to hit the water.

It's a nice little lake....I read an article a few weeks ago where they just stocked that lake...with the warm water the fish should be biting pretty good today

Sweet! Too bad there is a lake wind advisory today, gusts of mph. I'm still gonna take a ride and at least scope it out.

Thanks

it used to be a great lake, haven't fished on it in years. they had a dam failure that was fixed about 2 years ago (i'm old so and thats what i remember anyway. probably 5-600 acres. it was restocked with panfish and largemouth bass about this time last year, so should be some good fish by now.

Caddo has fallen off. All the spraying for salvania kill every piece of native grass too.

Everyone is on the river for that big bass tournament.

If you go out there, take a few pictures if you get a chance. I have never heard of this Lake Ivan, pretty interesting.

I am gonna try and finally get my pirogue out to Bickham Dickson for a test paddle this afternoon if the damn wind will calm down.

The wind every damn weekend is getting ridiculous. I won't be fishing this trip, just a test run to see if my seat is too high and/or the boat is too heavy. I have potential to look like a douchebag with the wind blowing me all over the place if this doesn't work as planned.

Used to fish out there as a kid, but last time I drove by it was all empty. Wasn't aware they fixed the problem. Good to know.

Yeah, that's the one near Cotton Valley? Should re relatively open because even the locals around Benton don't know much about it.

Didn't realize it was full again. It's got a little park there where you can launch. It's a tiny thing but should be nice. And I doubt it's got many people on it. Like they've said already most folks don't know about it.

I've lived here 28 years and never heard about it. Let us know how you do. I might take the pirouge out there once I get off call.

I understand you may still be catching fish out there, hell, I caught the one picture below in February.

I'm referring to the native grasses that have been poisoned. You know? The base of the ecological food pyramid in the lake? Now that they've crashed that, the rest will fall into place... it's science.

Catch them while you can...
