Since he is 6-1 0r 6-2 around 210 to 220 lbs:

Can he have a chance to become a Deangelo Peterson type of TE in this 'potentially' stacked year of WR's?

He's got room to add weight. Or could he be a Harry Douglas?

Switching him to TE at around 6'2" may be damaging to his pro prospects. I think Peterson got switched because of the lack of natural pass catching TE's on roster. There's no need to switch him with Desean Smith on roster and Jacory Washington most likely signing with this class. Both of them being top notch receiving threats.

Scott from Dandy Don said he's 6'1 220. That's kinda heavy for only 6'1. How good is he after contact. Maybe our OC's want to switch him to RB.

He doesn't look 220, so that's what really matters. If he can carry that weight without having it affect his mobility, I'll take a big-bodied wideout anyday

He carries the ball from the RB position a few times per game in his highlights FWIW

Very nice. I can't view HUDL tape, so I'll just take the majority's word for it.

Probably as others have stated, but I would like to a have a wr who could outmuscle dbs and use hops and good hands to get a ball in traffic. How clutch was boldin for the ravens this year?

For real. The Boldin comparisons are pretty on point, considering his measureables. Also, whoever pulled up the Blackmon pic.. eerily similar facially

Yeah I think Blackmon and Boldin are really good comparisons as to his ceiling and the type of player he could turn into. I also think John Diarse is a good comparison as a prospect. LSU is going to have some really strong guys at WR which is perfect for our style of play. Guys like that coupled with fast, explosive guys like Quinn, Noil, and Dupre would be fun to watch.

I also have a feeling that with these WR spots starting to go, you may get a guy like Quinn come in to watch a spring practice and commit.

I agree..a good mix of different WR styles can only be beneficial to the offense.

Kid has a fun last name. Look forward to hearing Hawthorne call it.

Good cause if obj and Landry have good years and with mett being a senior they might go to the draft and we would need some WR's in 2014.

WRs that will See the field that are currently on LSU's roster:

Jarvis Landry
Odell Beckham, Jr.
Kadron Boone
James Wright

Travin Dural
Avery Peterson
John Diarse
Kevin Spears(maybe)

I expect those top four to be gone. leaving us with only 4 WRs that would get playing time so yeah we could easily take 4-5.

The kid is a stud and will be a four star on all sites. He could move to safety but I hope he stays on offense. Elite size, speed and great hands.

***** DISCLAIMER*****

the following is 2nd hand info. A friend of mine is who told me this, and I am not vouching for the validity of the statement.

quote:

had two guys start training at the gym that were on the Dawson football team - I asked them about Tony Upchurch (WR early commit from Pearland) and they said he's probably gonna end up playing basketball at another school instead of accepting the LSU offer.

FTR - I don't know the validity of it but they seemed to know a decent amount about the kid.

when I asked him what school for basketball, his reply was

quote:

it ain't a big BB school he's looking at. Hightower or something.

his class mates also told my friend that grades would be a concern either way.
