Politards realize budgets are brought forth every year, but due to political shenanigans (ridiculous amendments designed to frick everything up) they fail every year.

The U.S. legislature has never passed a budget?

So which Republican amendments doomed the last Obaama budget, which was late btw, to a unanimous defeat?

Jeff Sessions's amendment. I'm so tired of explaining it, i've actually bookmarked it so I can easily link it.

And yes, both side are guilty

That link doesn't say Jeff Sessions amended Obama's budget. It says he put it up for a vote.
Reading comprehension is your friend.

quote:

In a move to embarrass the president, Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions decided to offer a Democratic budget of his own: Obama’s fiscal 2013 blueprint.

If you know how the budget process works, it does. "Offering a budget of his own" comes by way of anamendments.

Indeed it is.

Here is more.

House and Senate Unanimously Reject Obama Budgets — Or Do They?

quote:

Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Miss., introduced a budget amendment representing the president’s budget request; the Sessions amendment was voted down 99-0

quote:

While the Sessions and Mulvaney bills put forward the same topline numbers as those in the president’s budget, neither offered any specifics. The Sessions legislation was 56 pages long; actual budgets are closer to 2,000 pages long.

As I said before: shenaniganry.

This thread is about the (majority) Dim senators finally proposing a budget after three years.

From your own article:
quote:

For a third straight year, Senate Democrats refused to offer a budget resolution of their own — opening themselves to criticism that they’re dodging tough decisions in an election year. But Democrats argued that no budget is needed since spending levels were already set by last summer’s bipartisan debt deal.

The GOP had NOTHING to do with the Senate Dims' refusal to produce a budget for the past 3 years. "Shenanigans" had nothing to do with the senate majority's refusal to produce a budget. NOTHING!

Harry Reid and the senate democrats have been undeniably derelict on this matter, yet you, and others like you reflexively defend them and make excuses for them, when their inactivity has been shameful.

They DO have a budget. It just doesn't pass. Again, read the articles I linked above.

Please point out where I suggested it was only Rs responsible for the shenanigans?

In fact I see this

And yes, both side are guilty

re: Today is 31313, we have a new Pope, the Dems in the Senate produce a budget,

So the minority in the Senate is to blame for the Democrats not putting up their budget for a vote?????????????????????

Come on man, we're not idiots.

As far as amendments coming from the minority side, they can't pass without some of the majority joining in; so who cares if the Republicans put forward amendments because they weren't going anywhere without Dem help.

The fact is the only serious budget proposal was Paul Ryans. President Obama and the Senate Democrats had no serious response in the Senate.

They rejected Ryan's efforts (as expected); but did nothing to advance a budget because they want the status quo. High spending and the rich are getting favors from the Republicans.

Their latest budget is all taxes and no spending cuts. But even that budget is flimsy and of little substance.

it's obvious the party in control of the white House and the Senate is not serious about putting the country in financial order, and that they only want to win elections.

That's rich. Ryan's budget relies on Obamacare being repealed. There are almost no specifics in the Ryan budget.

Good read

True, theirs is also worthless.

re: Today is 31313, we have a new Pope, the Dems in the Senate produce a budget,

On Ryan's budget:

quote:

Paul Ryan offered his budget on Tuesday. Let's do give him props for making the effort and all. The vast majority of his colleagues are potted plants on this front, reading talking points, sometimes banging the table and doing precious little else. But what Ryan calls a budget is what any CEO would call a firing offense. It uses some numbers and some words that appear in real budgets. But it neglects some other key elements ... like arithmetic or the truth or a greater economic purpose.

... I don't care who you are.

quote:

The Ryan budget depends entirely on unspecified tax reforms and the replacement of revenues he doesn't care for (such as those associated with Obamacare) with others he doesn't care to actually define or describe. The rigorous, widely respected Center on Budget and Policy Priorities slammed the exercise, taking Ryan to task for failing to live up to his billing as the guy courageous enough to put his ideas out there.

Weren't we discussing past budgets?

But I don't disagree, Ryan's budget this year is a sham.

However, a shame is better than a scam especially since even a real Ryan budget wasn't going to be passed. The Dems proved that time and time again.

Well, his last budget was avoided like the plague by even Senate Republicans so ....? I suppose it was much closer to legit than this one....but still purely political gamesmanship.

Attack Ryan all you want, at least he puts something on the table.

Compare his budgets over the years to the one the Dems put out and the one Obama put out and oh wait Obma hasn't had time to do his.

but you get the point.

The Dems are the majority and yet the danger is the minority party????

Come on man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
