Would be huge for the new defense but that price tag is too high

Kruger went through two serious childhood accidents.[6] He almost died in his Uncle's jeep accident at age 13. In college at Salt Lake City, Utah, (January 29, 2008) a street stabbing left him with a 6.5 inch scar on his chest. A screwdriver was driven through the back of a Ute teammate and brass knuckles were used to break the nose and shatter the cheekbone of his younger brother. The fight left Kruger with "life-threatening injuries" that required nearly 50 staples to close the incisions made during a four-hour surgery.

Something will happen with at least one of those guys within 4 hours, we're still over the cap.

I'm kind of leaning towards this as well honestly. Dude was good this year, but it was only year worthwhile and he's going to cash in for real IMO. I would just hate to get strapped with a guy like this for the next few years and he doesn't pan out.
If much rather a guy like Harrison who will probably play for a contender at a discount and can teach the young guys while he stays here for a year or two.

a lot of people just remember his playoffs; and he was really good there. I think he had two 2 sack games.

And im not saying he is a bad player, but he is one of the few pass rush guys on the market, so he has full steamed hype going for him.

Someone will pay him like an elite rusher, while he doesn't have the upside to be more than a 8-9-10 sack player in a good year. Which isnt bad, but i dont think he'll fit our budget

What probably happened is that Loomis/Payton/someone with the Saints was asked if they would like Kruger to play for the Saints. The response was hell yeah I'd be "very interested" in having play for us. It doesn't tip their hand. It just amounts to a vague compliment to Kruger. I'm sure the Saints would also be "very interested" in having Calvin Johnson play for them. That doesn't mean they are planning on making it happen.
