Yes, but it was Golden State and he ended up in Indy via trade.

Is he considered an injury replacement for Jason Smith or do they see him as a possible long-term sub?
Having him under contract past this season at an affordable cost would give us some leeway in moving Smith or Lopez for other parts.

His offense isn't good enough to make Smith expendable, is he tough enough to bang with the bigs Lopez was brought in to defend? Although to be honest Lopez hasn't done a great job of that himself. His offense has been a pleasant surprise but he's really not filling his intended role of being Aaron Gray.

I don't see him fully replacing them as much as giving us a decent backstop in case we have to shop either of them to get an upgrade of some kind, be it a starting 3, a backup at the 1 or 2, or some kind of movement in the draft.
