There's going to be a pep rally for the team at the Double Tree Inn, Nashville, on Wednesday evening.
I know a lot of fans would like to be at the SEC tournament, but are unable to go for various reasons. I know that many fans would love to be at the pep rally and support our team.
My husband & I will be going.
I had an idea (possibly lame, but there it is) to collect a bunch of well wishes/encouragement quotes/appreciation posts from fans on this board.
I thought I could copy, cut & paste them into a document kinda like a petition, and present it to the team in Nashville on behalf of all fans that would like to be there personally, but were unable to do so.
I think the players would really like it. It's not going to be much of a pep rally if not many people can actually make it to Nashville, so I thought it might be nice for the team to know that there are fans out there who care even though they can't get there.

Alternatively, you could send you own personal message somehow to the team @ the Double Tree (they're staying there).

I don't know what you guys think of this idea, but hopefully some of you would like to tell your team what you appreciate about them, or wish them well.

By doing so, you're allowing me to copy your statements, btw.

I will be there. The Alumni Association and TAF are sponsoring this pep rally in conjunction with the Nashville Alumni Chapter. I think so far, we have over 125 RSVPs which we are very excited about.

man that's great. The guys will be excited to see some people there. Last year I went down for the UK game. Left after work after we beat Arkansas. Got to Bourbon to hang out with some fans. Me and my buddy were 2 of the maybe 5 LSU fans we say all night. Kentucky probably had 85% of fans on the street and the other 11 schools split the rest. SC, LSU, Auburn, and UGA easily had the least.

How much did you pay for your tickets when you went?

Did you pay for the day's session, or just single game?

I had never really looked at the prices for SECT tickets until just now, and I was surprised at how little the Session 1 tickets were for the first two games.

I imagine they get more expensive each day/game.

I like your idea and appreciate your efforts.
Maybe it lacks eloquence, but here is my statement:

Thanks Tigers, for breathing life back into our program. Thanks for reminding me of how exciting LSU basketball can be. This is only the beginning...Keep pushing! Keep working! Keep playing with heart and hustle! You're setting the tone for the next golden age of LSU basketball! You represent us well...
GEAUX TIGERS!

That's awesome. Glad to see the excitement of the program is reaching outside of Baton Rouge and LA.

Good to know the team will be welcomed with a good amount of excited fans in P&G.

I only went to the Arky game last year, was an absolute blast to say the least. UK fans outnumbered LSU and Arky during our game which was sad considering they weren't even playing that day. People who have never been to the SECT need to go in the future, worth the whole weekend IMHO

Hickey was pissed that nobody went to the UK game the next day too

UK fans were snatching up tickets for ridiculous prices. LSU wouldn't let us leave the area where you get the tickets without going into the arena

UK's older fans are super douchey. The younger fans are actually the better portion of their fanbase.

I felt this as well. The older portion of UK fans that sat around us were criticizing basically everything we did and saying how they would destroy us (which they didn't).On the other hand, the younger ones on the concourse wished us luck for our game with them and we talked some SEC hoops with a few as well.

I did see Swiperboy and McBee from Tenn on Bourbon. Just taking it in, not really partying. it was early.

BTW, for those interested, The Greatest Mind in Collegiate Athletics (Brady) has his team on CST in the semis of the Sun Belt tourny. Up 53-51 with 3 minutes left. If they win this I think they'll get by FIU tomorrow to go to the dance.

My appreciation for the team...

Thanks Basketball Tigers for a hard fought year, we really appreciate your hard work and heart you showed this year! We know the team did all it can do this season, but you really exceeded expectations. This team has set anew standard for LSU basketball and hopefully it is a sign of great things to come. Please keep fighting and show that heart in the tournament and best of luck! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

Relay this to the team:

WE DON'T TAKE NO SHITE FROM ANYONE...
WE DON'T TAKE NO PRISONERS...
WE DON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER.

4 games in 4 days guys. We all know you can do it.

Kick arse in Nashville!

That's fantastic news! We didn't get to speak to basketball operations exec. assistant, (Brittany Carvalhido) on Saturday, since she was heavily involved in Senior's Day. I know she was really excited about the pep rally, so she must be overjoyed at those numbers. The girl works VERY hard for our team in ways most people are unaware of.

See you there!

I had to go to a family wedding in Dallas last year so missed it. I didn't want to go to the wedding, but was chastised.
I felt bad either way.
