How deep can this team go in the NIT?

We are playing lights out, and the leaders have emerged and we are playing great. Could we do some damage in the NIT? I think so.

How is this even answerable without knowing who is in the tournament?

I think we could win the NIT. Still work to be done. Right now I think we are looking 3 or 4 seed. with a win over Ole Miss and a decent tournament run we could be a 2 seed.

If we can host for the NIT that would be a huge boost. Very proud of the Tigers and Coach JJ.

Love the optimism. Shouldn't they first find out if they are actually even invited to the tournament?

So fans of schools that are a NCAA lock should wait for the announcement before talking about it?

We're an NIT lock.

Could we not see the NCAAT with this scenario ?

I think so. We can still get to 20 wins with at least one win in the SEC Tourney.

we'd prob have to win the SECT at this point. To even get in the conversation, we'd have to make the championship game. Our RPI is still in the 90s

20 wins is not the magic number like it used to be. 20 wins in the SEC doesn't mean much when the conference is rated 8th in the RPI. Look at Ole Miss. They're basically done barring a deep run in the SECT, and they have 22 wins.

Our RPI is now 83 after last night (according to ESPN). Still not in the conversation of the bubble though. If we can make the SEC Tourney final and beat Ole Miss, we'll have beat 3 more top 60 RPI teams and will get a SOS and RPI boost even if we lost to Florida.

Thats the only way we have a shot at the tourney. Its a huge long shot but not out of the question.

Our RPI would likely be in the mid 60's and we'd be 22-11 with 13-9 SEC record and would have won 9 out of 12 to end the year i think. Not a bad resume for this years bubble.
