I don't believe in the spending more money to make money mentality of earning points, but I hear Detroit is going at a better rate.

More and more people are accepting credit cards so be sure to ask companies you are buying goods and services from.

I recently completed a home improvement project of around $20,000 and I was shocked that the contractor accepted amex with no additional fee. They did not represent in any of our intial discussions or marketing materials that they accepted credit cards. Nice amount of points on something i would have written a check for in the past.

I really wish landlords used Square to collect rent. I'd put my rent on the CC every month and be killing it. I'm losing 20,000 points a year not being able to do that.

Mine charges something like $25 per transaction so I would only come out ahead $50 worth of points at the end of the year.
