If you wait long enough someone will find one and give one away in here

I'll check and get back to you.
I think a friend of mine is going to be breeding his dog soon.

Tell him to wear snake chaps. They usually try to turn around and bite you.

Limited doesn't allow you to register your puppies if you breed her.

I thought they changed the registration stuff like 10yrs ago to where you could register unregistered dogs

I just know the one I have coming can't be bred and puppies be sold as registered unless its with a dog they choose.

Mine: pic from Yesterday.
The lady that owns this kennel has really great dogs. Mine is fantastic.

That's called limited registration I think. 1000 dollars is a pretty big range. You can get a dog from a breeder with good lines for that much. My opinion on paying for labs is the more you pay the less likely you are to get a dog that won't hunt. You can get lucky or unlucky with dogs in any price range though.

What's the difference in training a dog can take/learn if you get a young puppy vs a dog that is several months or a year old?

Older dogs have a harder time honoring imo.
When they are 8-10 weeks old, you can teach them simple things that become part of their psyche. Sit, Stay, Come...all to a whistle as well. Older dogs have had opportunities to "learn" things you don't want them to do.
two cents worth....

I think the training any age dog can take is about the same. The problem with an older dog is that they are set in their ways. You are not only training but breaking bad habits and starting something otherwise not familiar.
Essentially like teaching a newborn Chinese as opposed to a 3 year old or an adult IMO

Is it worth the work of training a young puppy? I've heard it's a pretty big time commitment.

With a lab they are pretty easy going and will take commands from just about anybody. You need to have the dog listening and being attentive pretty young. Sit and no are invaluable. They can't get in trouble if they always honor sit and no
