| English Rock vs. American Rock (Posted on 3/6/13 at 8:07 am)
Which do you prefer? British rock legends or American rock legends? England has The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who, Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Queen, The Kinks, .... The US has Hendrix, Bob Dylan, The Doors, ABB, Beach Boys, Grateful Dead, CCR, Tom Petty, The Band, .... It's hard for me to pass up the first four bands that I listed. I'd have to side with Britain. How about you? Still a patriot.

It's a toss up, but England is very top heavy in "all-time greats" That said, like mentioned above, America can take solace in the fact that most of the greats from England were heavily influenced by American music... So...

America wins for me with Bob Dylan sinking a game-winning shot at the buzzer.

Rock of the Lake has the highest quality per post of anyone on TD. I'd go with American because of early American rock (Elvis, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly) and Blues' influence on British rock. Without those there would be no British Invasion.
