| LSU Out of State (Posted on 3/5/13 at 12:59 pm)
This semester I took a semester off and am only taking 2 humanities online through LSU Independent Study and working more. I'm trying to get out of state waived, the extra OOS cost is ridiculous and have realized its not fair to put myself/parents in debt for it. However, I've had a LA Drivers License the past 2.5 years, vote here, have been independent (tax wise) the past 2 years, , haven't received FAFSA in like a year and half, and my permanent address is in BR. What is the likely hood of it getting waived? Any tips? Thanks

I was out of state at one time. Gained residency last year. Are you saying you are already declared OOS and trying to reverse the status? I had to prove i was financially independant and worked in LA for an entire year... which was BS in my opinion because the reason I moved here was for LA work. I married a LA resident, LA drivers license, tag registrations, utility bills, the whole nine. They would not accept me until I showed W2... however all it takes is one person to flip the residency switch on a computer. In my opinion, you could get this changed with the right person and the right sweet talk/flowers/chocolate/etc PS if out of state online for humanities... shoulda BRCCed

LSU still has me listed as an OOS student. I've applied 2 times (freshmen and sophomore fall year) and got denied which led me to taking this semester off. I would love to break in and switch that switch. But actually the LSU Independent Learning is all a flat out $445 per class. So BRCC wasn't required. Also I'm sure you spoke with Pat Lee, who's in charge of residency. Sources have told me that the old hag has retired
