Absolutely!

Keith Godcheaux was pretty damn good for the Dead as well.

Clips of Lord

Part of the reason I went with Jon was his innovation on the B3, since there's so many other good choices. Hell, Reese Wynans has been here in Nashville for years and he's a monster. This clip is Lord explaining his sound.

LORD

Nice mentions on Toussaint, Leavell and Preston (who's rooftop wurlitzer track on "Don't Let Me Down" is full of win). I'd also throw Nicky Hopkins in there.

Really, chops aside, a couple of my faves are Benmont and Tony Banks-not that they aint Ninjas too, they're just more parts oriented.

No mention of Brian Auger??? Embarrasing...

What about Joe Zawinul, Larry Young (Khalid Yasin), Dr Lonnie Smith, Jimmy Smith & Lonnie Liston Smith??

Some more excellent keyboard players-
Vincent Crane (Crazy World of Arthur Brown & Atomic Rooster)
Rod Argent (Zombies, and of course, 'Argent')
David Greenslade (Colosseum & solo)
Ken Hensley (The Gods & Uriah Heep)

You younger dudes need to explore more of the great musicians/bands of the past- a lot to offer!!

So nice to see R Wakeman getting some love. My first album purchased as a kid was Yessongs and I've loved him ever since. Also agree w Chic Corea. Legend
